Today I want to share something very special — the story of my favorite teacher.
I think most of us have at least one teacher we really like, right? A teacher who makes us feel
happy, safe, and motivated. For me, I also have one, and she became my favorite teacher since
my very first day of school.
Let me tell you the story. On my first day at school in my village, I really didn’t want to go. I
cried a lot, and I even told my mom not to leave me there. Everything was new, and I just wanted
to stay home.
Then my teacher noticed me. She came near with a kind smile and spoke softly. She told me not
to go back home. And she said something I will never forget: “If you stay, I will give you 500
kyats to buy the snack you like.”
As a little child, that made me so happy. So I stayed in school — at least for her lesson. After
class, I went back home, but the important thing is this: from that day on, I started to go to school
every single day.
She became my favorite teacher because she treated us kindly and encouraged us, not with
punishments, but with positive words. Her encouragement gave me confidence and helped me
love school.
Looking back, I realize that a good teacher doesn’t just teach lessons. A good teacher makes us
feel safe, motivates us, and changes our attitude about learning. That’s exactly what she did for
me.
So, she will always be my favorite teacher, and I will never forget the way she encouraged me on
my first day.
