Lesson Plan for Grade 1-2 Name: Ethan Martinez Date: 10/04/2022

Music Standards: Solfege, Repertoire Song, Rhythm Patterns, Musical Alphabet, Recorder, AB Form, Unpitched Percussion
Technique

Daily Assessment Target:

The student will perform a new singing game through moving, and singing to the song, Bow, Wow, Wow!, and will be assessed
by putting a plus, check or minus on the seating chart after observation of them doing the activity.

Teaching Process:

Good Morning class, today we will be playing a fun game called “Bow, Wow, Wow!”. It's a game, and a new repertoire song that
you can memorize throughout the year that allows us to sing and dance with everybody in the room! So please stand on up and
let's do a quick warmup!

Warm-Up: Space (Direction)

Have the students walk in various directions around the room. (forward, backward, sideways, toward the door, toward the walls,
toward the smart board.)

Bow, Wow, Wow! (United States):

● Teach the students the song, "Bow Wow Wow" by first chanting/echoing the words phrase by phrase and then adding
the melody.
● Teach the students the melody using solfege
● Sing the song with words
● Teach the movement: (#1 is the first phrase, #2 is the second phrase, Ect.) Do this with a small group in the front of
the room.

Have the children form two circles, one inside and one outside, with partners facing one another.

1. Stomp right, left, right

2. Clap, then point in the air
3. Hold hands with partner and then turn quickly in a full circle
4. Outer circle moves right to face new inner circle partner

● Have the class repeat this over and over till they have made it all the way around the circle.
● Have students sit down in circle for reflections

Closure, Reflections, Quick-Checks: Great job class! What did we learn today with our warmup!?!? Was it levels, weight or
direction!?!? Good job!

Notes for yourself: (be brave, be patient, Have fun! )
