Six government troops and three suspected Maute members
24 RP JL were killed in a clash in Lanao del Norte, Philippines. The
operation, involving the 44th Infantry Battalion and 3rd Scout
Ranger Battalion, aimed to neutralize suspects linked to the
Mindanao State University bombing. Armed Forces of the
Philippines chief General Romeo Brawner Jr. expressed
condolences and vowed to defeat the Maute Group.
