Voltage Drop Calculation Overview

The document provides a voltage drop calculation for a 400/230V system, detailing various cable specifications, including line to line voltage drop percentages for different segments. Each item lists parameters such as load demand, current, wire size, and resistance values, all indicating that the voltage drop is within acceptable limits. The working formulas for calculating voltage drop for both three-phase and one-phase systems are also included.

WORKING FORMULA:

For 3phase System: Where;

R= Conductive resistance in ohms/ 305m (As Per THHN/THWN-2 Supplier Catalogue)
Vd = 1.732 * IL * L * (RcosØ+XsinØ) X= Conductor inductive reactance ohms/ 305m (As Per THHN/THWN-2 Supplier Catalogue)
305 L = one way length of circuit ( source to load) in meters
IL = Line Current in Amperes
For 1phase System: Cos θ = Power Factor

Vd = 2 * IL * L * (RcosØ+XsinØ)
