Role Play Script: The Naughty Elephant and the Brave Ant

Characters:

• Narrator (teacher or one student)

• Elephant

• 2–3 Ants (one is the Brave Ant)

• 2–3 Small Jungle Animals (optional: rabbit, bird, squirrel)

Script with Actions

Narrator:

(Standing at side)

“Once upon a time, there was a huge elephant in the forest.”

Stage direction: Elephant enters slowly, stomping feet.

Elephant (stomping loudly, waving trunk):

“Ha ha! I am big! I am strong!”

Narrator:

“He was very naughty and got angry quickly.”

Elephant (pretending angry):

“Move away, small animals!” (waves trunk)

Narrator:
“Inside a tree hole lived an ant family.”

Stage direction: Ants enter marching in a line, wave to audience.

Ant 1 (smiling, waving):

“Hello! We are tiny ants.”

Narrator:

“The elephant always troubled the ants and small animals.”

Elephant (pretends spraying water):

“Ha ha! Take this water!” (sprays imaginary water with trunk)

Ant (angry, hands on waist):

“Stop troubling us, Elephant!”

Elephant (laughing):

“I am big! You can’t hurt me!”

Narrator:

“The ants made a plan to teach him a lesson.”

Brave Ant (steps forward):

“I will go inside his trunk!”


Stage direction: Brave ant walks slowly to elephant, pretends crawling up trunk.

Narrator:

“The ant crept inside the elephant’s trunk and started biting.”

Elephant (jumping, crying):

“Ouch! Ouch! Help me!”

Brave Ant (pretends speaking from inside trunk):

“Say sorry and stop troubling us!”

Elephant (holding trunk, crying):

“Sorry, sorry! I will never trouble you again!”

Stage direction: Brave ant comes out, elephant smiles.

Elephant (folds hands):

“Thank you, tiny ant. You are brave.”

Narrator or all together (hands joined):

“Moral: Never underestimate anyone.”
