Project Evaluation
My Individual Contribution to the Project
Throughout this project, I contributed significantly by taking responsibility for the research
and PowerPoint presentation. I dedicated time to gathering reliable information from
various sources and ensured that the data we used was accurate and up to date.
Additionally, I helped troubleshoot challenges the team encountered, such as adjusting our
design and ensuring the CAD model was submitted. My proactive approach helped the team
stay organized and meet deadlines as effectively as possible.
My Team Role: Researcher/Presenter
As the researcher, my main role was to collect, use, and present information that we used on
our project decisions. I spent considerable time understanding the project requirements
and exploring multiple perspectives to provide valuable insights. During the presentation
phase, I took on the role of presenter, where I explained key findings and results to the
audience. This dual responsibility required me to balance in-depth research with clear and
concise communication, ensuring our pendulum car was presented in the clearest, most
concise way possible.
The Efficiency of the Team
Our team’s efficiency was commendable. We established clear roles early on, which
minimized confusion and allowed us to focus on our tasks. Regular meetings and check-ins
ensured everyone was on the same page. However, there were moments when
miscommunication slightly delayed progress, particularly when delegating overlapping
tasks. Despite these minor setbacks, our ability to adapt and resolve issues quickly made the
overall process smooth and productive.
The Challenges Faced
One of the main challenges was communication. Some members were difficult to get hold of
at times, so it was difficult to update them on any changes or alterations on our project. This
sometimes resulted in delays or uneven workload distribution. Additionally, synthesizing
diverse perspectives into a coherent strategy required extensive discussion and
compromise. These challenges tested our problem-solving skills and ability to work under
pressure.
What Have I Learned Through the Project?
This project taught me the importance of clear communication and collaboration. I learned
how to balance individual tasks with group responsibilities while developing better time
management skills. Additionally, presenting our work helped me gain confidence in public
speaking and reinforced the importance of tailoring messages to specific audiences.
What Will I Do Differently for the Next Project?
In future projects, I will focus on improving task delegation to ensure a more even
distribution of responsibilities. I also plan to encourage more frequent and detailed
communication within the team to avoid misunderstandings, and ensuring we exchange
phone numbers, so that it is easier to update everyone on changes as soon as they happen.
Finally, I aim to incorporate feedback given to us on the presentation to refine our approach
and deliver better results.
