1. Trapezium Area Problems
The area of a trapezium is given by: A = 1/2 × h × (a + b)
a) Find the area of a trapezium with parallel sides a = 9 cm, b = 13 cm and height h = 7 cm.
b) The area of a trapezium is 84 cm². If a = 5 cm, b = 11 cm, find the value of h.
c) A trapezium has area 96 cm², h = 8 cm, and a = 6 cm. Find the missing side b.
2. Rectangle Perimeter
The perimeter of a rectangle is given by: P = 2l + 2b
a) Find the perimeter when l = 15 cm and b = 8 cm.
b) The perimeter is 54 cm and l = 10 cm. Find the value of b.
c) A rectangle has perimeter 80 cm and breadth b = 12 cm. Find the length l.
3. Taxi Fare
The cost of a taxi ride of distance d km is given by: C = 5 + 3d
a) Find the cost of a 12 km trip.
b) A trip cost $50. Set up an equation and solve to find the distance travelled.
c) How far can you travel if you have $74 to spend on a taxi ride?
4. Sports Scoring
In a certain game, a team scores 4 points for a try (t), 2 points for a conversion (c), and 1
point for a penalty (p). The total score is: S = 4t + 2c + p
a) Find the score if a team scores 3 tries, 2 conversions, and 4 penalties.
b) A team’s score is 23. They scored 4 tries and 3 conversions. How many penalties did they
score?
c) Write the formula for the score if drop goals (d) are also included, worth 3 points each.
5. Cylinder Volume
The volume of a cylinder is given by: V = πr²h
a) Find the volume of a cylinder with radius 5 cm and height 10 cm (use π ≈ 3.14).
b) A cylinder has volume 785 cm³ and height 5 cm. Find the radius r.
c) A cylinder has radius 7 cm and volume 1078 cm³. Find the height h.
6. Sphere Volume
The volume of a sphere is given by: V = 4/3 × πr³
a) Find the volume of a sphere with radius 6 cm (use π ≈ 3.14).
b) A sphere has volume 268 cm³. Find the radius r (give your answer to 1 decimal place).
c) The radius of a sphere is doubled. By what factor does the volume increase?
7. Cone Volume
The volume of a cone is given by: V = 1/3 × πr²h
a) Find the volume of a cone with radius 4 cm and height 9 cm.
b) A cone has volume 226 cm³ and height 12 cm. Find the radius r.
c) A cone has radius 5 cm and volume 262 cm³. Find the height h.
8. Rectangular Prism Volume
The volume of a rectangular prism is given by: V = l × w × h
a) Find the volume when l = 8 cm, w = 5 cm, h = 10 cm.
b) A prism has volume 600 cm³, width 6 cm, and height 10 cm. Find the length l.
c) A prism has length 12 cm, width 7 cm, and volume 840 cm³. Find the height h.
9. Cylinder Surface Area
The surface area of a cylinder is given by: A = 2πr² + 2πrh
a) Find the surface area of a cylinder with radius 3 cm and height 8 cm.
b) A cylinder has surface area 471 cm² and radius 5 cm. Find the height h.
c) A cylinder has height 12 cm and surface area 904 cm². Find the radius r.
10. Composite Shape (Cylinder + Hemisphere)
A water tank consists of a cylinder with radius 4 m and height 6 m, with a hemisphere of the
same radius on top.

11. Fruit Price Problem
Buying 4 bananas and a $1.80 pineapple costs the same as buying 6 bananas and an
orange that costs $0.90.

cost $68.
