Key transferable skills:
Observation: Encouraging students to use their senses (seeing, hearing, touching, etc.) to notice details in the world around
them.
Classification: Sorting objects or living things based on observable characteristics (e.g., color, size, shape) e.g. Grouping
objects based on whether they are living or non-living.
Communication: Sharing their ideas and observations with others, such as through drawings, simple sentences, or show-and-
tell.
Critical thinking: Analyzing information and asking questions about why things happen and seeking explanations. e.g. why
plants need sunlight and water to grow.
Creativity: Using their imagination to come up with new ideas or ways to explore and understand the world around them.
Collaboration: Working with others to complete tasks or experiments, and taking turns listening and speaking.
