1 Introduction
This user guide explains how to best use the application SRM for Mechanics from the download of the mobile
application page to the report generation.

3 Security
3.1 General considerations
In order to protect the SRM4M product and the related operations, the user’s organization is
recommended to:
Configure the hosting smartphone to prevent users obtaining privilege control of the device
(root access),
Ensure that the hosting smartphone is kept up-to-date with security patches and proper
system configuration,
Use the latest release version of the SRM4M application provided by official Airbus sources
only. Latest application version can improve the features as well as the security of the product.
Keeping the app updated at the latest version is a good practice. See below how to get the
latest version of the application.
Provide to the product users (including administrators) an awareness on the secure use of the
product including the risks of theft of user authentication means (phishing, social
engineering…).
These recommendations are coming from the Airbus documents below and slightly adapted and
completed for sake of clarity in the SRM4M context.

They are part of the Airbus Security Handbook built for the Airbus customers to help to maintain the
security level of Airbus products during operations.
To access the latest version of the Airbus Security Handbook documents and get guidance about
their local application, please contact the Aircraft Security Focal Point (ASFP) of your Airline.
3.2 How to get the latest version of the application
The SRM4M application is available on public stores (App Store for iOS or Play Store for Android):
when a new version of the application is available, then it is available for download as any other
application and the user is notified by the OS (Operating System) itself.

For Chinese Customers who do not have access to Android by Google: the SRM4M application can
be made available on a FTS+ folder with dedicated access. At each new app version, Customers will
be notified by Airbus through dedicated notification; they will have then to download the application
from the FTS+ folder and to install it on all their devices
