Waitlist Movement

You may notice fluctuations in your child’s waitlist number - both up and down the list. This is a
common occurrence, especially during peak times of enrollment and is most likely due to
siblings. For example, a 1st grade applicant is offered a seat, and he has a sibling who is on the
waitlist for 3rd grade. This sibling must be given “sibling preference,” so she moves up to the top
of the 3rd grade waitlist with other prioritized sibling applications. This will cause other 3rd grade
applicants to move backwards by one number.

It is not possible for us to determine your child’s chances of being offered a seat since it largely
depends on other parents’ decisions. Once our classes are full, any seats that open up are the
result of current or newly enrolled students deciding they no longer want their seat. Although we
do typically see a number of seats open up before the start of school, we have no way of knowing
how many or for which grades.
