MODEL EXAMINATION – QUESTION PAPER PATTERN (2023-2024)
MATHEMATICS (80 Marks)
1) The question paper is divided into five sections.
● Section A carries 20 marks, 1 mark for each question.
● Section B carries 10 marks, 2 marks for each question.
● Section C carries 18 marks, 3 marks for each question.
● Section D carries 20 marks, 5 marks for each question.
● Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with
sub- parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
2) There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided for 2 marks,
3 marks and 5 marks questions. Only one of the choices in such questions have to be
attempted.
3) Use of calculator is not permitted.
Section – A (20 marks)
I) Multiple choice questions (1 x 18 = 18)
II) Assertion and Reasoning (1 x 2 = 2)

SCIENCE (80 Marks)
● The question paper comprises of five sections – A, B, C, D and E.
● All questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice is provided in some
questions. Only one of the choices in such questions have to be attempted.
● All questions in Section A are one-mark questions comprising objective type
questions.
● Section B consists of 6 Very Short questions carrying 02 marks each. Answers to
these questions should be in the range of 30 to 50 words.
● Section C consists of 7 Short Answer type questions carrying 03 marks each. Answers
to these questions should be in the range of 50 to 80 words.
● Section D consists of 3 Long Answer type questions carrying 05 marks each. Answer
to these questions should be in the range of 80 to 120 words.
● Section E consists of 3 source-based/case-based units of assessment of 04 marks each
with sub-parts.

SOCIAL SCIENCE (80 Marks)
● The question paper comprises of six sections – A, B, C, D, E and F.
● Section A – From questions 1 to 20 are MCQs of 1 mark each.
● Section B – Question no. 21 to 24 are Very Short Answer Type Questions, carrying 2
marks each. Answer to each question should not exceed 40 words.
● Section C contains Question no.25 to Question no.29 are Short Answer Type
Questions, carrying 3 marks each. Answer to each question should not exceed 60
words.
● Section D – Question no. 30 to 33 are long answer type questions, carrying 5 marks
each. Answer to each question should not exceed 120 words.
● Section-E - Questions no from 34 to 36 are case based questions with three sub
questions and are of 4 marks each. Answer to each question should not exceed 100
words.
● Section F – Question no. 37 is map based question.
● There is no overall choice in the question paper. However, an internal choice has
been provided in few questions. Only one of the choices in such questions have to be
attempted.
