Personal Analysis
During this term, we focused on learning how to speak and write about the past. We learned
how to use regular and irregular verbs in the past tense to talk about people, events, and
personal experiences. We had speaking activities where We talked about my childhood,
famous people like Isaac Newton and presidents, and also shared short stories using the
past tense.
We practiced pronunciation, vocabulary, and sentence structure. We also learned to use
“should” and “shouldn’t” to give advice, and expressions related to location, origin, and
physical condition. In class, we worked on different exercises from the booklet, and We
improved my ability to communicate in English through conversations, role plays, and
presentations.
Overall, this term helped me feel more confident using English to describe past events,
interact with others, and express myself more clearly.
Our Experience as students at Elena Chavez de Pinate Public High School
During this term, I have accomplished important goals. I improved my writing and
communication skills in English, especially in the past tense and present perfect. I learned
how to write and speak more fluently about past experiences.
However, I also faced some challenges. It was difficult for me to pronounce some past
tense words, like taught, and to understand the correct forms and meanings of new
vocabulary.
To overcome these struggles, I practiced my speaking skills by reading and reviewing
grammar content several times. I also used the Chance method to improve my
pronunciation and gain more confidence.
I have seen significant changes in my education. I feel that I have strengthened what I
already knew, and now I can communicate more confidently and accurately. Constant
practice helped me reach that level of fluency.
To improve our education, I would recommend:
1. More focus on phonetics and pronunciation.
2. Avoid starting with grammar—focus first on natural language use.
3. More speaking activities like debates, conferences, and seminars.
4. Use English literature and movies to expose students to real language.
5. Promote language acquisition instead of only language learning, and treat English
as a skill, not just a subject.
