and 2018. Overall, all type of shops were decreased
over the given period, with opening new stores showing
the lowest percentage. Notably, in 2015, the closures

To begin with, starting at around 6,500 in 2011, the
number of closed shops decreased slightly to 500 per-
cent for the following year before increasing substan-
tially to nearly 7,200 in 2013. Additionally, the amount
of closed stores exhibited a slight decrease to about
6,500 and the further decline was observed in 2015,
plummeting to under the 1,000. For 2016, 2017, and

Moreover, around at 8,500 shops were opened in 2011,
and this was followed by significant decline to 4,000 in
2012. However, for the next 2 years, the figure ac-
counted for higher proportion of 6,000 compared to
next 2015 year, which showed moderate decrease by
4,000. Similarly, from this year the level of opened
shops remained unchanged to 2017, when it fell
marginally to 3,000.
