I. Teachers Role in Society
1. Social Behaviour
2. Students are deeply affected by the teacher's love and affection,
competence, and moral commitment.
3. Students try to follow their in his/her manners costumers, etiquette style of
conversation.
II. Teachers of 21st Century
1. Teachers lead in the classroom.
2. Teachers demonstrate leadership in the school.
3. Teachers lead the teaching profession.
4. Teachers advocate for school and student.
5. Teachers demonstrate high ethical standards
III. Characteristic of Teachers of 21st Century
The Adaptor- They must also be able to adapt to dynamic teaching
experiences.
The Communicator- Fluent in tools and technologies that are able to
communicate.
The Learner- Continues to absorb experiences and knowledge.
The Visionary- Discipline and through the curriculum can make links that
reinforce value learning.
The Leader- Set a goal and objectives for the success of a project.
The Model- The behaviors that they expect from the students are
Tolerance, Acceptance, A wider view, Global awareness, and reflection.
The Collaborator- Sharing, contributing, adapting and inventing.
The Risk Taker- What you want and what the technology can achieve,
identify goals and facilitate the learning.
Professional Teachers - Are devoted and passionate to his/her profession and
sees the purpose bigger than themselves.
IV. Personal Qualities
Good personality- Serves as an inspiration to the students.
Honest- Teachers possess a good sense of value.
Enthusiastic- Teaches have a pleasant outlook, optimism, and a sense of
humor.
Caring- Compassionate and interested in others.
Role Model- Good behavior and sets a good example for others to
emulate.
Fair- Denotes impartially, open-mindedness, and objective judgment and
decision-making.
Friendly- Teachers demonstrate pleasant, warm-hearted, and loving
relations with their students.
Respectful- Politeness and courtesy in dealing with their students.

Dedicated- Devoted, loyal, and committed to the profession.
Creative- Ability to create new and original ideas.
Flexibility- Ability of teachers to adapt to situations.

VI. Teachers as Professional:
1. Teacher can make classroom management decisions.
2. Knowing the curriculum well is an advantage on how to relate the materials.
What is Profession?
Career for someone that wants to be part of society, who become competent
in their sector through training.
Profession - A type of job that requires special training and gives status and
prestige to the individual.
Professional - People who excel in their respective careers and professions.
VII. Criteria of Professional Teachers
1. Professional Academic Preparation Teachers have finished a four-year degree
course in education.
2. Licensure and Commitment to the Service Teachers are licensed professionals
as certified by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). They possess
extensive knowledge in their own field and are committed to the service of
the youth.
3. Public Service and Altruism Teachers are aware that teaching is service. They
entered the profession in the hope that they could help influence the students
to become better persons
