Interviewer: Dear participant, please tell me your full name and last four digits of your ID first.

Participant: Hello, my full name is Labonna Saha Dona and my aaa the last four digits of my IDs
are 1062 and I am from 57A.

Interviewer: Okay, now I am going to ask you a few questions about AI use and its reliance. So
the first question is aaa how frequently do you use ChatGPT or other AI tools for your academic
writing tasks?

Participant: Aaa I would say I always use these AI tools for my academic writing tasks because,
you know, these days we are becoming so, what can I say? so lazy and this AI is here to make
our job easy. So yes, I often, even I always use ChatGP.

Interviewer: Okay, the second question is, for which aspects of academic writing do you most
often rely on AI tools? For example, idea generation, grammar correction, essay structuring,
drafting or editing?

Participant: Well, I would say I use all of them that you just mentioned before because you see
aaa everything is connected with each other. Let's just say, I am having an academic writing and
I don't know what the central idea of this is. So yes, I will aaaa use it for idea generation and
obviously..aaa..sometimes as aaaa…What can I say? And if you see in our region or country,
people or students most frequently mistaken grammar rules. So yes, I also check my aaaa like I
have written a sentence, the grammar is correct or not. I also check this. And I also ask for, you
know, the structure. Mane Like what structure I should use to make my answer better. Like the
teacher will...hehehee..Like if you know

Interviewer: The third question is, do you believe your academic writing skills would aaa
develop more effectively if you reduced your use of chat GPT? Please explain your reasoning.

Participant: Well, yes, aaaa I believe my academic writing skill has developed even more after
using chat GPT. Because when you aaaa ..I remember when I was in first semester, I really, I
really didn't know how to write an answer and aaa how to maintain the structure actually. So
aaa when I used this AI tool, I noticed that gave me with aaaa perfect structure, like aaa on the
above that was an introduction, then body part, then conclusion. And yes I, I followed that
structure method.

Interviewer: The fourth question is, have you ever felt that relying on chat GPT in hindered your
ability to think deeply or creatively about a topic? If so, could you provide an example?

Participant: Well, yes, I believe that it sometimes actually, you know, tells upon my writing
ability. And it it is because of that aaaa right now, ChatGPT has gone nuts and it started giving
some misinformation and misleading us. So as a result, if I actually don't double check it or cross
check it, I will get the wrong answer. And maybe I will believe that this is the right for me. So
yes, it is aaa kind aaaa hindered at for me.

Interviewer: Okay, the last question is, if you were suddenly unable to use ChatGPT, how
confident would you feel about completing your academic writing task independently?

Participant: Well, now these days it is really hard for me to, you know, imagine my life without
ChatGPT. But yes, before that, when that this ChatGPT doesn't exist, I also …com.. completed
my college or school degree without this. And I believe that maybe… maybe 10% will be
defected from my writing ability, skill. So yeah, I don't think it will affect me much more. So
without ChatGPT, I can rely on my own ability of writing.

Interviewer: Okay, thank you for your participation.
