INTRODUCTION

In today’s world, automation and real-time tracking systems play a crucial role in various fields,
including security, logistics, and smart mobility. Traditional tracking systems rely on manual inputs,
making them less efficient for dynamic environments. This project upgrades an existing real-time tracking
system by integrating AI-based voice control and robotic car functionalities, enhancing both automation
and user interaction.

The system works by combining ESP32, AI-powered voice recognition, GPS tracking, and
robotic navigation. Users can control the system through voice commands, which are processed by the AI
assistant to execute actions such as retrieving GPS location, moving the robotic car, or responding via
SMS. The robotic car uses motor drivers and obstacle avoidance sensors to navigate autonomously,
reducing human intervention and improving efficiency.

This upgrade is essential because it transforms a basic GPS tracking system into a smart, interactive,
and automated solution. It enhances real-time communication, enables hands-free operation, and introduces
intelligent navigation, making it suitable for applications in security patrols, autonomous vehicles,
remote surveillance, and smart city solutions.

1.1 MOTIVATION:

Imagine a scenario where someone needs to track a moving object or vehicle in real-time, yet they are
occupied or unable to physically operate a device. Or think of a parent worried about their child's commute
or a farmer monitoring autonomous equipment in a field. In such cases, a simple and intuitive system that
responds to your voice and thinks on its own can be incredibly helpful.

The motivation behind this project stems from the desire to make technology more human-centric smarter,
more accessible, and capable of making decisions without constant user input. With the rise of IoT and AI,
it is now possible to create devices that go beyond basic tracking to provide intelligent responses, voice
interaction, and autonomous behavior.

By combining voice control, real-time GPS tracking, and obstacle-aware navigation, this system introduces
a new level of interaction and functionality. It aims to reduce the gap between user intent and system
response—whether for students learning about embedded systems or professionals implementing
automation in safety-critical environments. It represents a step toward smarter, safer, and more responsive
machines that adapt to human needs.

1.2 OBJECTIVE:

AI-Based Voice Command Control: Implement a voice recognition system to allow users to control the
robotic car and request real-time GPS data using simple spoken commands.

GPS Location Tracking: Integrate the Neo-6M GPS module to continuously monitor the location of the
system and provide real-time coordinates when requested.

GSM-Based Communication: Use the SIM800L module to send location data or alerts via SMS and make
calls in case of emergency commands or conditions.

Autonomous Robotic Navigation: Design a robotic car using motor drivers (L298N or L293D) and wheels,
allowing voice-controlled directional movement (forward, backward, left, right).

Obstacle Avoidance: Use ultrasonic sensors to detect and avoid obstacles in the path of the robotic car,
improving mobility and safety.

Real-Time AI Responses: Provide text-to-speech responses through a speaker, enabling the assistant to speak
out location info, status updates, or confirmations of commands.

Security and Accessibility: Make the system user-friendly and secure, with limited control access and
consistent feedback for the user, ensuring safer and more efficient usage in the field.

1.3 EXISTING SYSTEMS:

1. GPS-GSM Vehicle Tracker: A standard tracking device that uses a GPS module for positioning and a
GSM module to send SMS updates to the user. It is a basic one-way communication model.
2. RFID-based Access Control System: Uses RFID cards to grant access to users. While secure, it lacks
real-time tracking and mobility features.
3. Voice Assistant Devices (e.g., Google Assistant): These allow basic voice control and interaction but
are not integrated with physical hardware like robotic systems or GSM modules.
4. Obstacle Avoidance Cars: Mini projects using ultrasonic sensors and motor drivers to avoid objects,
but without GPS tracking or voice interactivity.
5. IoT-Based Home Automation: Controls appliances using mobile apps (like Blynk), often using WiFi
but lacking mobility or real-time GPS integration.

Page no.3

1.4 Project Scope:

The scope of this project is to develop a compact, intelligent robotic vehicle capable of
receiving voice commands, navigating autonomously, and sending real-time location updates.
The system integrates multiple technologies GPS, GSM, AI voice processing, and obstacle
detection into a single functional unit.

This solution is designed for users who need hands-free, interactive control of a device that can
move and report its location in any environment. It is particularly relevant for use in educational
research, search-and-rescue missions, field equipment tracking, or home surveillance.

By offering both voice-based control and physical mobility, the project breaks the boundaries of
static tracking and embraces the dynamic nature of real-world challenges. It aims to make real-
time interaction more intuitive, efficient, and human-friendly bridging the gap between smart
thinking and smart movement

PROPOSED SYSTEM

The Proposed System is an RFID-based door lock system with enhanced security features and IoT integration.
It aims to provide a convenient, secure, and flexible access control solution. The system consists of several key
components, including:

1. RFID Authentication:
The system will authenticate users based on the unique RFID tag UID. When the user scans their RFID
card, the system checks the UID against a stored list of allowed IDs. If the UID matches, the door will
unlock, and the user will be notified with a message on the LCD display and audible feedback from the
buzzer. If the UID does not match, the system will deny access and alert the user through the same
feedback mechanisms.

The system will be connected to an IoT platform (such as Blynk) to allow remote monitoring and control.
Through the mobile app, users will be able to lock or unlock the door, check its status, and receive real-
time notifications about access events, such as “Access Granted” or “Access Denied.”
3. User Feedback:
The system provides real-time feedback through an LCD display that shows messages like “Access
Granted” or “Access Denied,” depending on the outcome of the RFID scan. In addition, an auditory
feedback mechanism using a buzzer is implemented to alert users about successful or failed access
attempts.
4. Offline Functionality:
The system is designed to function offline in case of internet connectivity issues. It will continue to verify
access locally, store the access logs, and synchronize with the mobile app once the internet is restored.
5. Security Enhancements:
The proposed system includes anti-cloning measures to prevent unauthorized access through cloned
RFID tags. Encryption will be used in the communication between the RFID reader and microcontroller
to ensure data security. This approach will significantly reduce the risk of security breaches.
