COURSE TITLE : BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE
COURSE CREDIT : 3 Units, (36 hours lec, 54 hours’ lab)
COURSE DESCRIPTION : The objective of this course is to discuss the implementation of business intelligence by giving new tools
and perspective to improve any decision making by supplying it with timely, accurate, valuable, and actionable insights. Topics to be covered include: BI
implementations, BI lifecycles, data warehousing, reports and emerging technologies.
PRE-REQUISITE : None
GENERAL OBJECTIVES : After completing the course, the students must be able to:
1. Learn more about the technologies, tools, processes, and trends that make up business intelligence.
2. Discuss business insights that are accurate, valuable, timely, and can be acted upon to positively influence the
enterprise.
3. Implement client-side and server-side security methods for security and privacy.
4. Discuss technology area that has benefited from the BI process, and BI response to the widespread adoption
and evolution of the technologies — especially data warehousing, Customer Relationship Management, Point-of-
Sale, and Enterprise Resource Planning.
5. Install and operate the ff. software for Reporting, Visualization, Data Warehousing, BI Platforms.
