Rainfall
Run-off
Relation
It describes how rainfall generates surface runoff in a
specific area.
Important for designing drainage systems, flood control,
and water resource management.
Why is it important?
Understanding this relation helps in estimating runoff during rainfall events.
Supports urban planning, infrastructure design, and flood risk assessment.
The Rational Formula
Why use
Rational
Formula?
It is simple and effective for estimating peak
runoff in small catchments.
Components
of
Formula
CCC: Runoff Coefficient (how much rainfall
becomes runoff).
i: Rainfall Intensity (based on rainfall patterns).
A: Drainage Area (size of the area contributing
to runoff).
Day &
Night
Earth spins like a top, which causes day and
night. When one side of Earth faces the sun,
it's daytime - time to wake up and play!
When that side turns away from the sun, it's
nighttime - time to go to sleep and rest.
Seasons
Change
Earth orbits the sun, which causes the seasons to change. We
have warm summers perfect for swimming, cool autumns when
the leaves change color, cold winters for snowball fights, and
blooming springs when flowers start to grow.
Which season do you like best?
Taking Care
of Earth
Earth is our home, so we need to take good care of it! We can
recycle our bottles and cans, conserve water by turning off the
faucet when we brush our teeth, plant trees to help clean the air,
and keep our environment clean
Thank You,
Earth!
