The Secretariat of the Federal Admission Programme for Afghanistan (Bundesaufnahmeprogramm)
attaches great significance to the responsible and transparent handling of personal data. In the follow-
ing, we inform nominees about data processing within the framework of the Federal Admission Pro-
gramme for Afghanistan.

2. Transfer of data to countries outside Germany
The Secretariat of the Federal Admission Programme (Bundesaufnahmeprogramm) does not transfer
any personal data to third countries. Excluded from this are the data that nominees provide to us in
order to support the departure to Germany. Precondition is an approval of admission to Germany by
the Federal Government. In this case all provided personal data may be used to pass it on to external
service providers as well as to hotels, airlines and German embassies and authorities in third countries.
3. Information on the collection of personal data
The Secretariat of the Federal Admission Programme processes personal data exclusively in accord-
ance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act
(BDSG).
Personal data includes, for example, name, address, e-mail addresses etc.
The Secretariat of the Federal Admission Programme processes personal data only to the extent nec-
essary. This depends on which data is required and processed for what purpose and on what basis
depends largely on the type of service the nominee is using or the purpose for which the data is
needed.
4. Processing of personal data when contacting us
When nominees contact us, the data provided will be processed in order to be able to answer the
request.
Identity data: title, first name, last name, date of birth, place of birth, marital status, place of residence
(address),
Communication data: e-mail address and mobile phone number
Nominees can also specify the following additional (optional) data and documents:
Additional data: passport number, E Taskeera number,
Documents containing personal data: Copy of passport, Taskeera/E Taskeera, documents of core fam-
ily members. The legal basis for the processing of personal data within the framework of the Secretariat
of the Federal Admission Programme (Bundesaufnahmeprogramm) is Article 6 para. 1 lit. e EU General
Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In case of contacted via e-mail or telephone by the Secretariat to provide further information please
note that any personal data transmitted via e-mail or telephone (e.g., surname and first name, sup-
porting documents) as well as the information contained in the e-mail or which we have received via
Telephone will be stored exclusively for the purpose of processing the request. The legal basis for the
processing of data in connection with e-mail communication is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.
5. Disclosure to third parties
The Secretariat of the Federal Admission Programme (Bundesaufnahmeprogramm) passes on personal
data to the Federal Government to further process the admission procedure. As part of the departure
escort, personal data is used by various parties of the Secretariat in Germany and abroad. That includes
a disclosure to relevant state authorities in third countries as Pakistan if it is required for the transit
process in a third country or the departure to Germany. The legal basis for this data transfer is Art. 6
para. 1 lit. e GDPR.

to other third parties unless you expressly consent to the transfer of data, or we are legally obliged or
entitled to do so.
6. Duration of data retention
Case data will not be kept for longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it is processed or as
required by law.
7. IT security of user data
The Secretariat of the Federal Admission Programme (Bundesaufnahmeprogramm) attaches great im-
portance to the protection of personal data. For this reason, technical and organizational security
measures ensure that the data is protected against accidental and intentional manipulation and acci-
dental deletion as well as against unauthorized access. These measures are updated in line with tech-
nical developments and continuously adapted to the risks.
8. Reference to nominees’ rights
The nominee is fully entitled to the rights according to the GDPR:
• to obtain information about your data stored by us (Article 15 GDPR)
• to have your data stored by us rectified (Article 16 GDPR)
• to have your data stored by us erased (Article 17 GDPR)
• to obtain restriction of processing of your data stored by us (Article 18 GDPR)
• to object to the storage of your data if they are processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(1)(f) and
(e), GDPR (Article 21 GDPR)
• to receive data that concern you in a commonly used and machine-readable format from the con-
troller such that they can be potentially transmitted to another controller (right to data portability,
Article 20 GDPR).
• to withdraw your consent to the extent that the data have been processed on the basis of consent
(Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). The lawfulness of processing on the basis of consent given remains unaf-
fected until receipt of the withdrawal.
You also have the right in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR, nominees have the right to complain to the
competent data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Federal Commis-
sioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI).
