Every hybrid (excluding HDCW) should only be made when you have the
required heirlooms (detailed in the how to an SB section)
What is a SB?
A SB, also known as Slaughterbowman or Slaughter Bow, is a
Longbowman with the Assassin skills Will to Slaughter (WtS) and
Bloodthirst (BT). It’s part of a subclass of hybrids known colloquially as WtS
Hybrids which are some of the best crowd clearers for mid-late game.
There are quite a few variations to the heirlooms used to make an SB,
detailed in the 'How to build a SB’ section. The build you choose will
depend on which bloodlines you’re using and which heirlooms you have.
An SB, along with other WtS Hybrids, can kill a large number of enemies in
one turn or even clear the whole map if you’re lucky enough, provided they
have support units backing them up. This includes a Bard with the 'Eagle
Ode' or a Bishop with skill 'Motivation', they also rely on the BT skill or an
equivalent successfully activating with each kill.
Example Builds

A build with WtS 3, Evasion 2, BT 4, and EI 4
Core skills
Core skills
The core skills of every WtS hybrid including SB, are WtS and BT.
WtS and BT are only naturally learned by Assassins and must be taught in the
Teaching area of the Training Grounds for other classes. Learning skills of the
current class only costs 600 silver while teaching skills to another class will cost
class change materials in addition to that.
To reliably trigger BT, make sure you have BT 3. If you can get BT 4 (90 AGI
Requirement during Spirits Festival), the +1 Max Energy is beneficial. Wts 1 will
suffice, but higher levels will grant damage bonuses after each kill. The remaining
skills will work at any level, the higher the better.
The build you choose will depend on which bloodlines you’re using and
which heirlooms you have.
Proficient Skills
Proficient Skills
These are the skills that you teach your SB after you have made them proficient.
The 2nd skills can be 'Evasion' from BM or 'Ranged Retaliate' from LB. The 4th
skill is usually taken up by EI ‘Evasion Instinct’ from BM. Late-Game players
usually use FA ‘Faith Awakening’ from Bishop for the 4rd skill slot, but that is
only when you have Will looms (a lvl 40+ scepter and cloth armor with Will as the
main stat, at 35+ so you can learn and level FA to lvl 4 without needing to level up
as a Bishop).
Alternatively, you can use HD ‘Hunter’s Desire’ instead of BT. It’s slightly less
consistent than BT but more stable overall as it always gives you at least 1 Eng
while BT has a chance of not giving you any energy at all. HD also allows you to
trigger WtS with 0 eng (this requires HD and FA to trigger).
How to build an SB
How to build an SB?
There are a few paths to build an SB:
1) Blademaster path: Blademaster to lvl 60/until you have 90 agi - Assassin -
LB
Switch to BM using heirlooms before level 10 so you can take full
advantage of the stat growth, then you can either switch to Assassin to learn
WtS and BT or switch to LB immediately if you don’t mind the extra
resources required to learn both skills. This path gives the best balance of
Str, Dex, and Agi but gives very little VIT. Therefore, a unit with at least C
VIT should be used so they can use equipment without being encumbered.
This path is also good because it gives evasion and evasion instinct without
you having to go out of your way to get it. This path is the optimal path
for most people.
2) Hunter Desire path: Bishop - LB/CW to lvl 60
This path is different from the other paths because you’ll need bishop
heirlooms and LB/CW heirlooms to take full advantage of this build. First,
you want to use lvl 20 or higher bishop heirlooms for a lvl 1 bishop. Then,
you’ll want to teach FA to them. Afterward, you can proceed with the CW
path build which is switching to CW using heirlooms before level 10, lvl to
lvl 60 then switch to Assassin and teach WTS and HD instead of WTS and
BT to them, then you can switch to LB. This is easier in some ways to build
than the others but harder in other ways. For example, this path doesn’t
require much Agi since you don’t need BT and WTS can be left at lvl 1 or 2
but you’ll need lvl 20 or higher bishop heirlooms to get an early level bishop
so you can learn FA easier. Like the CW build this build gives good STR and
VIT but not much AGI. This build is much more expensive than BM or LB
path since you need to switch more and teach 1 more skill.
Firstly, should level an Assassin until they learn WtS and BT so they can teach the
skills to your SB.
Recommended Bloodlines
Recommended Bloodlines
Cyning
They have great STR (SS max but S is more common), DEX (SS max but S is
more common) , and decent AGI (A max but B is more common) which are the
most important stats for an SB.
Minimum Potential: B str, A dex, C agi, C vit.
Recommended Potential: A str, S dex, B agi, B vit.
Recommended traits: Having a Mark is required, and Child of the Sun is very
beneficial.
Hon dynasty
They have great agi (SSS max but SS and S are more common) and dex (SS max
but S is more common), and decent str (A max but B is more common). God
Blessed gives your unit agi and 40 extra years before they get old, while deity
reincarnate gives your unit 6 str, dex, and agi while also giving them 60 extra years
before they get old. However, Hons are very hard to breed especially before you
get earls.
Minimum Potential requirement: B str, A dex, A agi, D vit
Recommended Potential: A str, SS dex, SS agi, C vit
Recommended traits: God Blessed and Diety Reincarnate is required for. You can
just go with one of them but it’s not recommended.
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment
Weapon: A Redwood Death bow with the item modifications “Heft” V, “Boa” V,
and “Harden” V or “Even” V and “Polish” V. Polish V gives +80 crit dmg while
Polish IV gives +50 crit dmg. Both Polish IV and V work fine so don’t feel the
need to sink your resources to get Polish V immediately. Heft V, Boa V and Harden
V is the better path if you have a lot of resources because it does more dmg than
Polish V but it requires you to get 3 level V mods which is very resource-intensive.
Armor:
Artifacts: The Nessa armor artifact gives SB +1 movement and more survivability.
The Orchid bow will increase its damage output (35%, 65% and 100% on a first
attack to a target with full HP and gives more def ignore (30% on all levels). Both
are very good for SB and will increase its viability versus competing crowd
cleaners.

Pros and Cons of SB
Pros and Cons of SB
Pros of SB
1) Hits hard- Has a high damage output due to their passive and high Dex
growth. (Moving will decrease your damage output by a fair margin.)
2) Has 20% DEF ignore while equipped with the Redwood Death Bow, 50% if
the Redwood Death Bow is injected with Holy Bow Orchid.
3) Has 3 attack range which makes positioning easier.
4) The most reliable mid-game WtS hybrid.
Cons of SB
1) Not as consistent at getting Eng as crowd clearers with Eng Leech as an
option on their weapons.
2) Can die if you’re not being careful (especially to hard hitting attacks like an
AC’s.). Nessa armor (Morning Light) helps in this aspect
3) Only has 2 movement without Nessa armor (Morning Light).
4) Damage output decreases if moving.
Team Comp
Team Comp
A mid-to late-game team comp usually consists of 1 WtS hybrid or another crowd
clearer like Pika, 1 Tower Hitter (usually BM with the 1st slot skill ‘Flowing
Shadows’ or ‘Shadowing Strike’, or a Pika), and 4 supports (usually 3 bards with
the 1st slot skills ‘Flying Eagle Ode’ (FEO) and 1 Bishop with the 1st slot skill
‘Motivation’. Other viable supports include: a Bishop with the 1st slot skill
‘Zealotry’ or an armored clergy with the 1st skills ‘Zealotry’ or ‘Motivation’.) The
key to a WtS comp is to use a Bard with 'FEO' to grant extra turns to the WtS unit
and make sure the SB has at least the 3 required Energy to proc WtS on their first
attack, even on turn one if you have the correct setup. This also will require using
the 'Unity' Mercenary Corps Skill, if you aren't already using it.
