1 Martin went to the swimming pool with his friends on
Saturday morning. They wanted to go to the park but
it was raining. In the afternoon, he met his parents at
a restaurant for his mum’s birthday. His parents went
to the theatre in the evening but Martin went home
with his brother.
2 My grandfather worked as both a firefighter and
a police officer when he was younger. He wanted
to work as a vet when he was a boy but then he
changed his mind. And as a teenager, he told me
he was interested in being a paramedic but then
he joined the fire service and began his career as a
firefighter before joining the police in his 30s.
3 Tim had a bike accident last week and sprained his
ankle. He also bruised his arms and legs quite badly
but luckily he didn’t break anything. And because he
was wearing a helmet, he didn’t cut his head either.
4 I usually go to school on foot but if I’m late I’ll ride my
bike. I don’t need to catch the bus because I live quite
near my school and I never go by car.
5 Mina’s bedroom is big enough for a double bed
and she’s also got a big desk so that she can do her
homework. She doesn’t need a wardrobe because
there’s a large cupboard to keep all her clothes and
books in. She wants to get an armchair for her room
next but they’re quite expensive!
