1. In the above segmentation of texts into translation units, it can be seen that the word
“pinagsasapatos” was translated into the phrase “They were hit with a shoe.” this exemplifies
amplification for the number of signifiers for the translation unit was increased, resulting into six
words to expanded expression.
2. “Sila” was omitted and was not translated because it was already included in the expression of the
translation of “pinagsasapatos”, because the infix “-sa-“ indicates plurality, thus represented already
by the expression “they” in the TT.
3. On the other hand, the particle “ng” was translated into “by”
4. and kanilang ama to “their father”.
