I learned to read when I was four years old, and I’ve been an 1 ever
since. We didn’t have a television when I was growing up, so every week, I
would borrow a few books from the library, read them 2 , not missing a
word, then return them to the library and exchange them for more. Of course,
my tastes have changed over the years. As a kid, I enjoyed 3 adventure
stories with an exciting 4 and a heroic 5 . My favourite subject
at school was history, and in my teens, I started reading novels that
were 6 real-life events. At the moment, I am into thrillers, and I am
currently in the middle of a famous and 7 novel that is 8 a
holiday resort in Spain. It’s absolutely 9 , and I am totally hooked.
Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t share my love of reading, and while I enjoy
spending my days off wandering around bookshops, 10 the latest titles,
he prefers watching football on television and gaming on his console.
Fortunately, however, reading is a hobby that is best enjoyed on one's own.
