MODULE 1
RECREATIONAL
ACTIVITIES
Directions: Provide your answers briefly and concisely below. Use
separate paper for your answer.
1. Define recreational activity in your own words.
• Recreational activity is any actions taken for the
purpose of exercise whether indoor or outdoor that is
done in leisure or in break. It is where you will feel
enjoyment, relaxation, pleasure and be free from all
the stresses you get at home or at work. By being at
a recreational activity, your personal social life will
improve as you will meet your friend and other
people. You also be able to gain an increase in self-
esteem. You will get to know yourself better and
become physically and mentally strong and fit. That
emblem which was lost in you will bring spark once
work through recreational activity. And so, it is
recommended that we should really participate in
any activities so that we will feel refresh and satisfied
again.
2. Explain briefly the difference between physical and
mental activity.
• All movement is referred to as physical activity that
require energy expenditure through contraction of
skeletal muscles. Walking, cycling, wheeling, sports,
active recreation, and play are all popular activities
to be active, and they may be done by anyone of
any ability level. Physical activity has been shown to
aid in the prevention and management of
noncommunicable diseases such as heart disease,
stroke, diabetes, and a variety of malignancies. It
also aids in the prevention of hypertension, the
maintenance of a healthy body weight, and the
enhancement of mental health, quality of life, and
overall well-being.
• Anything that stimulates, excites, or nourishes the
mind is referred to as mental activity or neurological
stimulation. Internally, through thought, or outwardly,
through the environment, stimulation can be
delivered. Education, employment, social, and
recreational activities all contribute to brain
stimulation. The supply of blood, oxygen, and
nutrients to the brain is increased by mental activity.
3. Explain briefly the difference between outdoor and
indoor activity.
• Indoor activities take place within a defined space.
They are limited by the constraints of the location
where they are held, as well as the number of
individuals who participate in the activities. Outdoor
activities take place in a natural setting. It could be a
green space on a property or being in close
proximity to nature. Activities might become more
exciting for the entire team when they are carried
out abroad.

From the topic about recreational activity, I realized that…
From the said topics and activities in module 1, I have learned that there are two types of
recreational activities in which are important in keeping our mental health strong, our
physical health and growth develop better, have a stable happy and healthy emotion, and be
socially fit. Moreover, having to understand fully what recreation is and applying what we
learned from it, we can break our bad habits, harmful vices, and routine line abusing
dangerous drugs and have a positive change from the stereotypical lifestyle thereof be
involve in a more active participation which has better impact in ourselves. Furthermore,
having meaningful and worthwhile recreational activities, we can be more and more be proud
of what we are doing and we can be able to inspire other people, exchange knowledge and
information with them which in turn makes their well-being turn from being miserable to a
better drive in life.
MODULE 2
GROUP
GAMES
Directions: Provide your answers briefly and concisely below. Use
separate paper for your answer.
1. Describe group games briefly in your own words.
• Group games are activities which enhances one’s potentiality though playing.
By being use to that certain game, an individual can hone his skills that will be
apply to other games. His body, physically, will improve a lot. He will become
agile, quick at making decision, his determination to win will also be enhance.
He will be quick-witted, and develop a great cognitive skill such as strategic
plans and able to withstand pressure amongst the crowd. Group games are
best for children in order for them to improve their social skills and avoid being
left-out in a group.
2. Explain the factors to consider in selecting games for different age groups.
• When selecting a game, it must be specific and will meet the proper
requirements so that every participant will get to play. For children’s game, it
must well-suited their age, interests, and skills so that they will not struggle in
playing. Choose a game that will be universal or a game which everyone will
get to play and is easy to comprehend as to not get to any confusion
whatsoever. Before conducting a game, the host must explain the mechanics
of the game in a language in which everyone will understand. They must teach
the participant the fundamentals or basic things to do and should demonstrate
them. The space, setting, and/or location should be spacious so that players
will get to freely move and will not be annoyed. And as much as possible, the
chosen game must have a limited equipment. Moreover, it should be timely
and will meet everyone’s interests for a better enjoyment.

Directions: Write 3 most important things that you have learned from
this module. Limit your ideas to 150 words only.
From the topic about group games, I realized that…
From module 2 topics and activities, I have learned that games are essential and have
a deep significance for individual, especially to children. Games are good for the
development of personality, physicality, mentality, and moral vitality. By participating
and engaging through games, we can avoid being dull, retarded, and lethargic.
Games assists in increasing our cognitive capacity for us to make quick decisions, be
critical thinkers, and be better strategists. Moreover, games make our body be ready
to tackle every physical obstacle with ease, that is because through games, the
fundamental foundations such as throwing or running hones our ability, in which are
helpful as we engage in a more develop sports. Our endurances, agility, swiftness,
strength, will gradually and dramatically increase. Furthermore, through games, we
can be socially active, good-sport, and be friendly towards our allies and foes. That is
why game are very much vital to every individual.
MODULE 3
PARLOR
GAMES
Directions: Provide your answers briefly and concisely below. Use
separate paper for your answer.
1. Explain at least 3 objectives in playing parlor games.
• To develop coordination by continuous repetition of the movements in the
game
o This means that through parlor games you’ll be having a coordinated
body which can potentially improve exponentially, your movements
will be as gentle like swan and be smooth and fluid like water while
having an explosive movement energy
• To express in games the fundamental instinctive tendencies such as running,
jumping, chasing, catching, and throwing
o This means that by doing parlor games, the basic foundations that you
are acquiring can be a big help when doing advance level of skills.
You will be agile, swift, aware of your surroundings, coordinated, have
mental abilities, a long-lasting endurance, as well as having a fast-
reflexes
• To develop desirable social attitudes, through the constant interrelationship of the
individual and the group.
o Parlor games are designed to help you be socially active and have a team-
sport mindset. You will have a good instinct with your group and be in sync.
Yourself as well in terms of interpersonal skills will increase this means that you
will get to know yourself better which in turn helps you be confident about and
charismatic and charming.
2. Select games in the late adolescence and write the mechanics of the game.
• Basketball - The ball must be bounced or dribbled with one hand while
moving both feet. If both hands touch the ball at the same time, or if the
player stops dribbling, the player is only able to move one foot. The pivot foot
is the one that does not move. Each basketball player is only allowed one
turn on the dribble. In other words, once a player has stopped dribbling, he or
she is unable to resume dribbling. When a player resumes dribbling, he or she
is charged with double-dribbling and loses possession of the ball to the
opposing team. A player may begin another dribble after another player
from either team touches or gains control of the basketball. This usually
happens after a shot or a pass. The ball must stay within the lines. If the
offensive team's ball goes out of bounds, the ball is turned over to the
opposing team. The player's hand must be on top of the ball while dribbling.
Carrying the ball occurs when a player touches the bottom of the basketball
while dribbling and continues to dribble, and the ball is lost to the opposing
team. The offensive team is not permitted to return to the backcourt once
they have crossed half court. This is referred to as a backcourt violation. The
offensive team has the legal right to recover the ball if the defensive team
knocks it into the backcourt.
• Table Tennis - Two or four players use small solid rackets to hit a lightweight
ball, commonly referred to as a ping-pong ball, back and forth across a
table. The game is played on a hard table with the players separated by a
net. Except for the first serve, players must allow a ball to bounce once on
their side of the table before returning it so that it bounces at least once on
the other side. A point is awarded when a player fails to return the ball within
the time limit. The game is fast-paced and requires quick reactions. Spinning
the ball alters its trajectory and limits an opponent's options, giving the batter
a significant advantage.
• Archery - A sport in which archers aim arrows at a target. There are many
different types of archery, but they all have the same goal: to get your arrows
as close to the center of the target as possible. At the Olympics, competitors
shoot at a target from a distance of 70 meters, with rounds including a
ranking round in which the athletes' overall scores determine their ranks
before a head-to-head elimination format. The scoring is straightforward:
simply sum up the scores based on where your arrows hit the target. The
highest score for a single arrow is ten points for striking the inside gold ring,
while the lowest score is one point for hitting the outer white ring. Arrows that
completely miss the target do not score.
Directions: Write 3 most important things that you have learned from
this module. Limit your ideas to 150 words only.
From the topic about group games, I realized that…
Participating in any parlor games is fun and is quite important for the development of body
and spirit as what module 3 has taught me. I have learned that through continuous playing
and participating in parlor games your coordination will be develop as well as improve better.
Moreover, our instinctive and reflexive tendencies will be trained and expressed such as
running, blocking, catching, throwing, and etc. We will be able to trust in our guts more and
be courageous, resourceful, aware of surroundings, always alert and awake, be persevere,
and a have a disciplined self. Lastly, parlor games give us knowledge about fundamental
things and stuff which later on in our life will spark our imagination, motivation, and even
inspiration to do our tasks better. We will be honed to be a great follower or better leader
and have compassion into things. Additionally, we will be grateful to these things.
MODULE 4
TAG
GAMES
Directions: Provide your answers briefly and concisely below. Use
separate paper for your answer.
1. Define tag games in your own words.
• Tag is a playground game in which two or more players try to "tag" and remove
other participants from the game by touching them with their hands. There are
several versions, the majority of which do not include teams, scoring, or
equipment. When someone is tagged, the tagger frequently says, "Tag, you're 'it!'"
The last person tagged is "it" for the next round. Players (two or more) play a
counting-out game to determine who will be "it." The player who has been chosen
to be "it" then pursues the other players, attempting to "tag" one of them (by
touching them with a hand), while the others try not to be tagged. As a result of
the tag, the player who is tagged becomes "it." Many variants change the rules
for team play or impose limits on the behavior of tagged players. In some forms,
the previous "it" is no longer "it," and the game can continue indefinitely, whereas
in others, both players are "it," and the game ends when all players are "it." With a
simple change, tag becomes an elimination game in which tagged players are
removed from the game.
2. Give at least 5 examples of tag games with mechanics.
• British Bulldog - The objective of the game is for one player to try to intercept other
players who are forced to run from one region to the next. The British Bulldog is
known for its aggressiveness (i.e., the captor must use force to prevent a player
from crossing) and is considered violent, which has resulted in it being banned
from several schools due to player injuries. The "bulldogs" are normally one or two
players, though in vast spaces, this number may be larger. The bulldogs are in the
field's middle. At one end of the field, all of the remaining players are assembled
(home). Running from one end of the field to the other while avoiding getting
captured by the bulldogs is the purpose of the game. The players are turned into
bulldogs when they are arrested. The game is won by the last player standing, who
then becomes the bulldog for the next game.
• Duck, Duck, Goose - a traditional children's game that is frequently taught in
preschool or kindergarten. The game could later be adapted for early elementary
students on the playground. The goal of this game is to walk around in a circle,
tapping on each player's head until one is chosen; the chosen player must then
chase the picker down to avoid becoming the next picker. A group of players sits
in a circle, facing inward, while another player, who is "it," walks around tapping
or pointing to each player in turn, calling each a "duck" until one is finally called a
"goose," designating the chosen player as the chaser. The chaser (goose) then
stands up and attempts to tag the chasee (it), while the chasee attempts to return
to and sit where the chaser had previously sat. If the chasee (it) is successful, the
chaser (goose) is transformed into the chasee, and the process is repeated. If the
chaser (goose) tags the chasee (it), the chaser (goose) may return to their
previous location, and the process is restarted by the original chase (it).
• Freeze tag - Freeze tag is a fast-paced, enjoyable variant of the popular children's
game tag with easy rules. In one key way, however, the rules of freeze tag differ
from those of a typical game of tag. Rather than one player being "it," two players
are selected as "it" from the beginning and work together to freeze the other
players. Choose two players to play the role of "It," and when the game begins,
these players will pursue the other players who aren't "it." The "it" people will have
three minutes to work together to tag and freeze the other players. When the "it"
player tags another player, they tap them on the shoulder and say "FREEZE!" The
players who aren't "it" must run, avoid, and hide from the "it" players, and they must
also unfreeze other frozen people by tapping them on the shoulder and saying
"UNFREEZE!"
• Kiss chase - Kiss chase, also known as Catch and Kiss, is a tag variation in which
kissing is used to tag. A children's game similar to tag in which the goal is for the
person who is "it" to capture and kiss another player, who then becomes "it." When
all members of one gender are "it" at the same time, they pursue down players of
the other gender until they are all caught, at which point the roles are reversed.
It's a simple kiss with no hidden agenda. You're not attempting to elicit a response
from the other person. It's the kind of kiss you'd give a close relative or best friend.
You must be cautious, however, because even a chaste kiss can be
misunderstood by the other party or by bystanders.
• Octopus Tag - a traditional children's game similar to tag. The group's leader is
chosen from among the Octopuses. Boundaries should be chosen based on the
size of the group so that everyone can move from one end to the other without
colliding. Everyone else in the group, with the exception of the lead octopus, lines
up side by side along one of the end lines. When the lead octopus stands in the
center of the playing field and yells "go," the game begins. When the leader says
"go," everyone must sprint from one end line to the other to avoid being tagged.
The leader tries to tag as many people as possible before they reach the finish line.
If a person is tagged by the leader before reaching the finish line, they must freeze
in place. Everyone who made it to the finish line safely and without being tagged
is still in the game. The process is repeated, allowing those who have been tagged
to tag others from their current location on the field. The game continues until only
one person is left or until everyone has been tagged.
Directions: Write 3 most important things that you have learned from
this module. Limit your ideas to 150 words only.
From the topic about group games, I realized that…
Tag games are essential as well as crucial to our survival and development as what module 4
has taught me. Through this fast-pace games our body will be in great that is because this
kind of activity involves faster reflexes and instincts, quick-decision making, agile and quick
movement of the body, speed in change of direction, and longer endurance. Our bones will
be stronger and more develop, helping us to tackle simple things all the way to advanced
stuff. We will have better communications with others and get to know yourself better. You
will be also able to have trust in your partners or teams, and get to make a better plans or
actions that best suits specific situations. Furthermore, tag games help us to not give up
easily, and pursue things, goals, and dreams that we wish to achieve. It gives us drive, power,
and insatiability to put in works.
MODULE 5
RELAYS
OR
RACES
Directions: Provide your answers briefly and concisely below. Use
separate paper for your answer.
1. Explain relays and races in your own words.
• Relays and races are competitions between two or more teams to complete a
task. Relay racing activities allow for team competition in a variety of settings, such
as day camps, school recesses, outdoor parties, and other group gatherings. The
basic idea behind any relay race is that teams compete against one another.
Each team should have the same number of members. The race is called a relay
because each team member completes a portion of the race before "relaying"
the next portion to the next team member. Tagging or passing a baton or other
object to a team member can accomplish this. The team with the most members
who finish the relay first is crowned champion.
2. Explain the objectives and skills that will be developed through relays and races.
• A relay race is one in which competitors’ race as a team to the finish line. The
objective is to reach the finish line as quickly as possible, and each team
member takes turns completing a section of the route. Relays and races are
popular in sports such as athletics, swimming, and orienteering. These activities
help you bond with your friends and families. They are a great way of releasing
stress and avoiding depressions. Moreover, you will have a well-coordinated
body, and be aware and agile. Relays and races are a good source for your
mind, and body.
Directions: Write 3 most important things that you have learned from
this module. Limit your ideas to 150 words only.
From the topic about group games, I realized that…
Relay or races are the best way to improve social skills, and locomotive functionality. It boosts
our cognitive development, to help us think critically and carefully. Our focuses to do tasks
will be improved. Our coordination with our teams or allies will be much easier thanks to
relays and races. It is also a great motivator and a big inspiration to those aspiring dreamers
with a goal to get a gold or award in their life. Our emotions will be disciplined therefore we
will be able have self-control and a good manner. Relay or races also taught me to just focus
on setting and achieving one goal at a time and be patient. It also taught me to never give up
and always do your best no matter what. And always grab every opportunity that comes in
your life because you will never know when will there’ll be another opportunity that may
come.
