Example
Two alternative crusher feeding arrangements are evaluated to
determine which gives the most consistent feedrate (i.e. the lowest variation in feed rate)
Consistent feeding is important in maximising crusher performance. The total tonnes
treated in several 15 minute periods were measured with a weightometer, with the
following results:

Feeder 1: 126 138 101 112 146 129 118 122 128 s = 13.40, n=9

Feeder 2: 136 129 120 138 131 126 131 s = 6.04, n=7

F = 13.402/6.042 = 4.92 v1 (d.f. for feeder 1) = 9-1=8

v2 (d.f. for feeder 2) = 7 - 1 = 6

Since H1 : s12 ≠ s22, a two-tailed test is appropriate. From tables F = 4,15 for α = 0.05
(i.e. 90% confidence for two-tailed test) and 5.6 for α = 0.025 (95% confidence). Thus
calculated value of F is significance at the 90% level but not at the 95% level, and
we may conclude that there is some evidence to support the hyppthesis that feeder 2
gives the more consistent feedrate (lower variance)

tricks :
Pakai menu correlation
nanti keluar tabel seperti diatas
uji masing masing angka coefficient correlation (R) tsb dengan rumus t = (R * sqrt n-2)/1-R^
hasilnya dikurang dgn 1
kalau dia > 95% = signifikan pengaruhnya.
us t = (R * sqrt n-2)/1-R^2

We may conclude that there is a real difference in flotation recovery

between the different areas of the orebody. (The magnitude of the
differeces can be obtained from the mean recovery for each area:
This process is equivalent to doing a series of t-test simultaneously.
Clearly Area B is almost identical in response to Area D, but differ
from area A and C; the ANOVA confirms that the difference is significant
