Coffee is one of the world's most popular beverages, made from roasted coffee beans, the seeds of
berries from certain Coffea species. Originating in Ethiopia, the stimulating effects of coffee were
reportedly discovered by a goat herder named Kaldi. From there, it spread to the Arabian Peninsula,
then to Europe, and eventually worldwide. The process of making coffee involves several stages:
harvesting the cherries, processing them to extract the beans, roasting, grinding, and finally brewing.
Beyond its energizing caffeine content, coffee is appreciated for its complex flavors and aromas, which
vary greatly depending on the bean's origin, roast level, and brewing method.
