Conclusion
In living a life in the seminary, it is very important for a seminarian to know the very
reason why he is in the seminary. In the homily of Fr. Aldrin Domingo he has mentioned that a
thing happens for a reason, and it is for us to discover that reason. Thus, reasoning plays an
important role in knowing the reason for something. To draw a conclusion from the things we
already know, for reasoning starts from something given or what we know - premises.

Most of the time I am getting tired of thinking things in order to come up with a
conclusion or a decision, sometimes I fear in jumping into conclusions or decisions which can be
wrong, that is why I ask. From those experiences I have learned that there is a need to ask when
reasoning, dependence in something or someone who can add something from what you know.
Example, how would you know if your girlfriend is sincere? Some might say, examine or observe
her actions, but that is not enough since it is very easy to fake or mislead a person by doing nice
actions. It might just give you an erroneous perceptions and observations about your girlfriend.
That is the reason why you need to ask, in order to verify if your observations are true.
Remember that in the absence of true and complete information we can jump into the worst
conclusion. In the seminary there are some cases when a seminarian is concluding without even
consulting someone who is more knowledgeable than them. In those cases some seminarians are
just making immediate inferences or hasty conclusions. It is like doing the thing you really do
not know how to do. In doing so, you are just making your life complicated and miserable. For
the past years of my life in the seminary, I have learned that to succeed at doing things, I need to
jump as quickly as I can in opportunities of doing it not in conclusion. Success always falls in
being proactive and not in being reactive.

In the homily of Fr. Jojo Mallari, he made mentioned that our reason for being in the
seminary is to know Christ. For me in knowing Christ good things follow. Seminary formation
always serves as my guide in knowing Christ deeply so that in the end of my journey in the
seminary I may have a conclusion, a conclusion which is derived from my own experiences and
knowledge about Christ which I have learned in the seminary – true and valid knowledge about
Christ, which I can share in future ages. Indeed it is very important to learn reasoning in order to
know the right way of making a right conclusion on something.
