opened new stores by single country between 2011 and 2018.
Overall, all type of shops were decreased over the given
period, with opening new stores showing the lowest
percentage. Notably, in 2015, the closures exhibited sharp
decline, reaching its lowest point.
To begin with, starting at around 6,500 in 2011, the number of
closed shops decreased slightly to 500 percent for the
following year before increasing substantially to nearly 7,200 in
2013. Additionally, the amount of closed stores exhibited a
slight decrease to about 6,500 and the further decline was
observed in 2015, plummeting to under the 1,000. For 2016,
2017, and 2018, it remained steady at 5,000 respectively.
Moreover, around at 8,500 shops were opened in 2011, and
this was followed by signi cant decline to 4,000 in 2012.
However, for the next 2 years, the gure accounted for higher
proportion of 6,000 compared to next 2015 year, which showed
moderate decrease by 4,000. Similarly, from this year the level
of opened shops remained unchanged to 2017, when it fell
marginally to 3,000.
