Be : were/ weren’t

Cách dùng

 Dùng để diễn tả một hành động, sự việc có thể sẽ không xảy ra trong hiện tại và
tương lai.

Ex: If I were rich, I would buy that house.

 Dùng để khuyên bảo, đề nghị người khác hoặc đưa ra một yêu cầu lịch sự.

Ex: If I were you, I wouldn't study English.

Cấu trúc đảo ngữ câu điều kiện loại 2.

 Đảo ngữ với động từ to be:

Were + S + (not) + …, S + would/might/could + V

If I were you, I would learn how to cook.

= Were I you, I would learn how to cook.

 Đảo ngữ với động từ thường:

Were + S + (not) + to V …, + S + would/might/could + V

If I had the chance, I would visit this island.

= Were I to have the chance, I would visit this island.
