Term Test Practice Instructions
Please practice for each of the following topics. For each task, write three
paragraphs and follow the points provided to help guide your writing. Use full
sentences, correct punctuation, and try to use interesting vocabulary.
1. Write a Description of a Bus Journey
Write three paragraphs about a bus journey. Think about:
How the bus moves and where it is going (city, countryside, etc.).
What you can see through the windows (people, buildings, trees, etc.).
The people on the bus (how they look, what they are doing, sounds you
hear).
Tip: Use your senses—what do you see, hear, or feel during the journey?
2. Write an Article About Eating Healthy Food
Write three paragraphs for your school magazine. You can include:
Why eating healthy food is important for your body and mind.
Your favourite healthy foods (e.g., fruits, salads, smoothies, etc.).
How families can eat healthily together (cooking at home, meal planning,
etc.).
Tip: Use a friendly, informative tone as if you're giving helpful advice to your
classmates.
3. Write the First Three Paragraphs of a Story About Someone Acting
Bravely
Write a short story beginning. Think about:
The setting (where the story takes place—dark forest, school, city, etc.).
An event that requires bravery (helping someone, facing a fear, etc.).
How it feels to be scared but brave at the same time.
Tip: Use descriptive language to create suspense and make the reader feel the
emotions.
4. Write a Talk About Keeping Fit and Healthy
Write three paragraphs as if you are giving a talk to your class. You could include:
Why it’s important to stay fit and healthy (strong body, better energy, etc.).
Ways to get regular exercise (walking, dancing, sports, etc.).
How family and friends can keep fit together (bike rides, games, workouts).
Tip: Use a clear and encouraging tone—like you are speaking directly to
your classmates.
5. Write an Article About Someone You Admire
Write three paragraphs for your school magazine. Include:
A headline for your article (e.g., The Woman Who Inspires Me).
A description of the person (who they are and what they do/did).
Why you admire them (qualities, achievements, how they inspire you).
Tip: This could be a famous person, family member, teacher, or anyone who
inspires you.
