DETERMINANTS & MATRICES

1. Find the values of x that satisfy the following determinantal equation

x+ 2y + 3z = -5
-x-3y+z= -14
2x+y+z= 1

3. For the a diagonal matrix P with the elements

P12=P21=P13=P31=P23=P32=0, P11 =1, P22 =2, P33 =3
Find the eigen values,eigen vectors and the trace value of matrix P.

3. For a 2*2 matrix A with the elements

A11 =5, A12 =4, A21=1, A22 =2
find eigen values,eigen vectors and diagonalize the matrix A.

4. Solve the following simultaneous algebraic equations by the matrix inverse method:
x+y-z=1
2x- 2y+ z = 6
x + 3z = 0
