Description
This input form is designed to input data required to perform calculation related to bit nozzles and under reamer (optional). The under reamer input
is valid only if you have added URM (under reamer) section in the BHA of the drill string in Well Geometry input data form.
Bit Nozzles
Bit TFA can be input directly, or can be calculated based on the bit nozzles. The various inputs are described below.
Nozzles - A maximum of ten different nozzle sizes can be input.
TFA - is the Total Flow Area, and is used only if the "Use TFA" input is checked.
Calculate TFA - Check this box to use calculated TFA from bit nozzles input.
Input TFA - Check this box to input TFA directly
.
Under Reamer
Under reamer hole size and TFA can be input. The user may choose to input the flow division in percentage (percent of flow rate going through the
under reamer) or calculate this quantity automatically.
Under Reamer Hole Size - open hole size by the under reamer nozzle
Under Reamer TFA - true flow area of the under reamer
Flow Rate Percentage - Check this box to input percentage of flow division through the under reamer
Auto Calculate Flow Rate Percentage - Check this box to let the program calculate the flow division percentage based upon bit nozzle
TFA and under reamer TFA
