This document serves as our agreement for this academic term. By committing to these principles,
we aim to create a positive, effective, and fair learning environment for everyone. Please read
carefully to understand the expectations for success in this course.

1. Attendance: Be Present and On Time

What's Expected: Being in class, on time, for every scheduled session is important. Your
presence not only helps your own learning but also contributes to our class discussions and
activities.

What This Means:You are responsible for everything covered and any announcements made
in class, even if you are absent.

A. If you need to miss class due to illness or an emergency, please let the professor
know as soon as you can.
B. Too many unexcused absences might affect your participation grade and, in
serious cases, your overall standing in the course.

2. Punctuality: Submit Work on Time

What's Expected: All assignments, projects, and required tasks must be submitted by their
official deadlines.

What This Means:Late submissions will generally receive a penalty, as detailed in our course
syllabus.

A. Extensions are only granted for very serious reasons. You must ask the professor
for an extension well before the deadline, and you might need to provide proof (like
a doctor's note).
B. Technical problems (like internet issues) are usually not an excuse for late work.
Please plan to submit your assignments early to avoid last-minute stress.

3. Engagement: Participate Actively

What's Expected: We encourage you to actively participate in class discussions. This means
asking thoughtful questions, sharing your ideas, and contributing positively to our learning
conversations.
 What This Means:Listening carefully and making meaningful contributions are more
important than just talking a lot.

A. All your comments should relate to the topic and show respect for different
opinions.
B. Coming to class prepared (having done the readings or assignments) will help you
contribute more effectively.

4. AI Use: Understand the Rules

What's Expected: You must know and follow the rules for using Artificial Intelligence (AI)
tools in this course.

What This Means:You can only use AI tools for specific purposes (like brainstorming ideas or
checking grammar) if the professor clearly allows it for a particular assignment.

A. You must never submit content generated by AI as your own original work
without proper credit and following specific assignment guidelines.
B. Trying to pass off AI-generated content as your own thinking, or using AI to
complete assignments in a way that avoids the learning goals, will be considered a
violation of academic integrity.

Ultimately, you are responsible for the accuracy and originality of all your submitted
work, even if you used AI tools to help you.

5. Academic Integrity: Be Honest

What's Expected: Honesty and responsibility in all your academic work are absolutely
essential. This means upholding the highest standards of academic integrity.

What This Means: Plagiarism (using someone else's work without credit), cheating,
unauthorized teamwork, and any other form of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated.

A. All work you submit must be your own original effort, or you must properly cite
any sources you use.
B. Please review the university's official policies on academic integrity. Breaking
these rules will lead to serious consequences, including but not limited to failing the
assignment or the entire course, and potential disciplinary action.

6. Respect: Treat Everyone Well

What's Expected: A respectful and welcoming learning environment is vital for everyone to
succeed.

What This Means:Treat all your classmates, the professor, and any teaching assistants with
politeness and respect, both inside and outside of class.

A. Listen carefully to others' viewpoints, even if you don't agree with them.
B. Engage in healthy discussions and debates, focusing on ideas rather than
attacking individuals.
C. Any behavior that is discriminatory, harassing, or disruptive will not be allowed.
7. Quality Over Quantity: Focus on Understanding

What's Expected: In this course, we value the quality, depth, and true understanding you
show in your work, not just how much you produce.

What This Means:Your assignments and exam answers should be well-thought-out,

A. Show that you truly understand the material, rather than just memorizing facts or
engaging superficially.
B. The feedback you receive on assignments and quizzes is meant to help you
improve. Please actively review and learn from this feedback.

This commitment will help us create a successful and enriching academic experience together.
