CONCLUSION
In recent years, communication between children and adults has become
increasingly challenging. While this difficulty can be largely attributed to the main
two reasons: generational differences in values and perspective on life as well as
children’s addiction to digital devices, the issue can be dealt with several effective
methods.
This problem results from numerous factors. One major reason is that the
worldviews of the younger and older generations are significantly different. Young
people are often open to changes and innovation, whereas older individuals tend to
be more conservative and have traditional values. Thus, the difference in mindset
can lead to misunderstandings or even controversies while discussing social,
personal, and political topics. Another contributing factor is the increased
dependence on smartphones among younger individuals. Many adolescents
allocate excessive hours to scrolling through the Internet, chatting with peers
online, gaming, and watching short-videos. As a result, they feel awkward and
uninterested in face-to-face interactions, especially with older people who are less
involved in the digital world, preferring to live in the virtual world.
