II. Activity Background and Rationale
There are 7 Grade 7-11 non-numerates identified during the
First Quarter Assessment of the School Year 2025-2026. Of the
non-numerates, 6 are from Grade 11-Exodus while 5 are from
Grade 11-Genesis. Based on the assessment conducted and
observation of the Mathematics teacher, these non-numerate
learners lack the competency in terms of the arithmetic
operations involving signed numbers.
These non-numerate learners must be given intervention to
save them from failing and dropping out. Thus, the proponent,
will implement the Project RUN (Rescue and Unfold Non-
Numerates) which aims to help the learners master the four
fundamental operations in Mathematics such as addition,
subtraction, multiplication, and division involving signed numbers
using the different numeracy intervention activities that are
appropriate to them.
III. Activity Goals and Objectives
Goal: After the intervention program, all the non-numerates will
be able to demonstrate mastery of the four fundamental
operations involving signed number in Mathematics.
At the end of the activity period, the target participants should be

multiplication, and division of signed numbers through targeted
intervention sessions;
3. develop learner confidence and reduce math anxiety by
providing consistent and supportive peer or teacher-guided
remediation sessions;
4. utilize differentiated instructional materials and engaging
numeracy activities tailored to the learners’ readiness level and
learning styles;
5. monitor and evaluate the progress of the non-numerate
learners weekly to ensure mastery of the four fundamental
operations involving signed numbers;
6. prevent potential dropout by fostering a positive attitude
toward mathematics and offering a safe and encouraging
learning environment; and
7. strengthen collaboration among teachers, peer tutors, and
parents in supporting the numeracy development of struggling
learners.
IV. Activity Description, Interventions, Methods and Strategies
PROJECT RUN (Rescue and Unfold Non-Numerates) is a school-based
numeracy intervention program designed to assist Grade 11 learners who were
identified as non-numerates during the First Quarter Assessment of S.Y. 2025–
2026. The program focuses on helping students master the four fundamental
operations involving signed numbers—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and
division—through tailored instructional activities during lunch breaks and
remedial periods. The ultimate goal is to strengthen foundational math skills,
build learner confidence, and prevent potential dropout due to poor academic
performance in Mathematics.
