My Project Proposal

 Title of My Science Fair Project: “Drink Up! Which Liquid Helps


Plants Grow Best?”

 My Question: Does watering a plant with milk, juice, or soda help


it grow better than water?

 My Hypothesis (What I think will happen): I think the plant


watered with water will grow the best because water is what
plants naturally need. The plant watered with soda might not
grow well because of the sugar.

 Materials I Will Use:

 4 small identical pots


 Soil
 4 small similar plants or seeds (like mung beans)
 Water
 Milk
 Orange juice
 Soda
 Measuring cup
 Labels for each pot
 Notebook and pen for recording observations
 Steps I Will Follow (Procedure)

1. Fill each pot with the same amount of soil and plant the same kind of
seed or plant.
2. Label the pots: “Water,” “Milk,” “Juice,” and “Soda.”
3. Water each pot with the same amount of liquid every day (e.g., 50
ml).
4. Place all pots in the same spot to get equal sunlight.
5. Observe the plants daily and write down changes like height, color,
and health for two weeks.
6. At the end of two weeks, compare how much each plant has grown.

 What I Expect to Find (Expected Results): The plant watered with


water will grow the tallest and look the healthiest. The others,
especially the one with soda, may not grow well or may look
unhealthy.

 Why This Project Is Important (Conclusion): This project helps us


learn what drinks or liquids are good or bad for plants. It teaches us
that plants grow best with water, which is important for gardening and
taking care of nature.
