The degree of dissociation (α) can be calculated using the formula α = Λm / Λom, where Λm is the molar conductivity at a given concentration and Λom is the molar conductivity at infinite dilution. For 0.01 M KCl with Λm = 141.0 S cm² mol⁻¹ and Λom = 150.0 S cm² mol⁻¹, α = 141.0 / 150.0 = 0.94 or 94%. This indicates the fraction of KCl that dissociates in the solution.

The unit of the rate constant matches that of the reaction rate when the reaction order is zero. In zero-order reactions, the rate of reaction is constant over time, and its rate constant has the units of concentration/time, matching the rate units.

The conversion of aniline to bromobenzene involves diazotization followed by a Sandmeyer reaction: NH2 + NaNO2 + HCl ➞ N2⁺Cl⁻ → C6H5Br with CuBr and HBr. For ethyl chloride to propanoic acid: Ethyl chloride (C2H5Cl) reacts with KCN to form ethyl cyanide (CH3CH2CN), which upon hydrolysis forms propanoic acid (CH3CH2COOH)

Molar conductivity (Λm) increases with dilution because it takes into account the volume of solution containing one mole of electrolyte, which increases with dilution, resulting in more extensive dissociation of ions in solution. Conductivity (κ), however, decreases as the number of ions per unit volume decreases with dilution, reducing the overall flow of current in the solution.

Using the first order kinetics formula t = (2.303/k) log(a/(a-x)), where k is the rate constant. The half-life (t₁/₂) is 120 minutes, so k = 0.693/120 min⁻¹. For 90% decomposition, t = (2.303/0.005775 min⁻¹) log(100/10) = 398.79 minutes. This time is required for 90% of the sample to decompose.

Zn, Cd, and Hg have completely filled d-electron subshells, which results in weak metallic bonds since electrons are not available for bonding. This weak bonding leads to lower lattice energy and thus lower melting and boiling points of these metals.

Molar conductivity of MgI2 at infinite dilution is calculated by Λom(MgI2) = Λom((CH3COO)2Mg) + 2Λom(NaI) - 2Λom(CH3COONa). Given Λom((CH3COO)2Mg) = 187.8, Λom(NaI) = 126.9, and Λom(CH3COONa) = 91.0 S cm² mol⁻¹: Λom(MgI2) = 187.8 + 2×126.9 - 2×91.0 = 259.6 S cm² mol⁻¹.

In pure water, the egg will swell due to endosmosis, where water enters the egg. In a saturated sodium chloride solution, the egg shrinks due to exosmosis, where water leaves the egg in response to the higher concentration of solute outside.

The van't Hoff factor (i) for K2SO4 is 3, considering complete ionization: K2SO4 dissociates into two K⁺ ions and one SO4²⁻ ion. This factor indicates the number of particles the compound disassociates into in solution, affecting colligative properties such as osmotic pressure, boiling-point elevation, and freezing-point depression.

The molar conductivity (Λm) of a 0.01 M acetic acid solution can be calculated using Λm = κ x 1000 / Molarity, where κ is the conductivity of the solution. Given κ = 1.65 x 10⁻⁴ S cm⁻¹, Λm = 1.65 × 10⁻⁴ x 1000 / 0.01 = 16.5 S cm² mol⁻¹. This reflects the conductivity of the ions in one mole of acetic acid in the solution.
