A.

PURPOSE

This Work Method is a general procedure to be followed during the cable tray installation
work.

B. RELATED WORKS

All works related to the cable tray installation must be completed before the tray is
installed, and the area

around the site must be cleaned to allow smooth transportation of the cable tray.

C. RESPONSIBLE PERSONNEL

a) Project Manager: responsible for implementing this Work Method.

b) Site Manager: coordinates with all relevant institutions and obtains all necessary
permits/approvals.

Also ensures resource adequacy according to this Work Method.

c) Site Engineer: ensures implementation complies with related documents such as shop
drawings,

specifications, standards, etc., which are part of this Work Method.

d) QC/QA Officer: responsible for inspection and testing of the work in accordance with this
Work Method.

D. REFERENCE DRAWINGS

Approved shop drawings from the client.

E. SAFETY

The following safety procedures apply:

a) All personnel must wear safety helmets.

b) All personnel must wear safety shoes within the work area.

c) Use of complete PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).


d) All equipment must be in good condition. Electrically powered tools are only used with
power when needed

and after approval from the Site authority.

F. EQUIPMENT USED

a) Welding transformer

b) Hand grinder

c) Measuring tape

d) Portable hand tools

e) Hand drill

f) Marker

g) Measuring tape

h) Scaffolding

G. PROCEDURE

1) Check the quantity and specifications of the cable trays delivered to the site.

2) Perform a physical verification of the trays before delivery.

3) Ensure lifting tools are safe and appropriate for the weight; ensure safe lifting operations.

4) Transport trays from warehouse to site using suitable and safe trucks/lifting.

5) Confirm all main and supporting components are complete and approved.

6) Report any damage immediately to the relevant party.

7) Heavy items unloaded from vehicles must be cushioned with wood.

8) Check the tray path per reference drawings.

9) Coordinate with other parties to avoid clashes with other installations and to ensure
smooth work.

10) Mark the locations for tray installation.


11) Install trays according to standard installation details.

12) Mark drilling points for support/hanger trays.

13) Ensure trays are level, aligned, and securely attached at all supports.

14) Install grounding jumpers at each cable tray joint.
