Circuit Diagram & Circuit Explanation
6.1 CIRCUIT EXPLANATION
1. Plug in the machine into socket of 230 V AC. Supplies goes to Earth fault circuit and if
earth of socket is not properly grounded or potential between earth and neutral is more
than 3 V, then earth fault LED indicator No. 1 will glow.
2. Switch ‘ON’ the Machine. If earthing is proper then Relay RE1 & RE1A (ON/OFF Relay)
gets energized and closes all its NO contacts.
3. When NO contact of RE1-A closed, then 230 V AC supply goes further to other circuit.
4. When NO contacts of RE1-B closed, then 0 V AC supply goes further to other circuit.
5. When NO contact of RE1-C closed then +24 V DC all relays supply goes further to all
one end of Relay Coils.
6. When NO Contact of RE1A-A becomes close supply 24V through Fuse F5 & SMPS-2
will be available at CP1-1 of Pulse 18 Card.
7. When C-arm up switch is pressed, relay RE4 (C-Arm Up Relay) gets energized. NO
contact RE4-C closes to give 230 V AC to Motor. Neutral to Motor is already connected
through TS4-12.
8. When NO contact of RE4-B closes then White & Red Wires of Motor short & NO
Contact of RE4-A closes then Black & Blue Wire Short, When all NO contact of RE4
short then motor rotates to move C-Arm upwards.
9. When C-arm down switch is pressed, relay RE5 (C-Arm Down Relay) gets energized. NO
contact RE5-A closes to give 230 V AC to Motor. Neutral to Motor is already connected
through TS4-12.
10. When NO contact of RE5-B closes then Blue & Red Wires of Motor short & NO Contact
of RE5-C closes then Black & White Wire Short, When all NO contact of RE5 short then
motor rotates to move C-Arm downwards.
FLUOROSCOPY MODE
11. When Machine is switched ON, Fluoro mode is selected by default. So, Relay RE3
(Fluoro/Radio relay) is de-energized. It energize in Radio mode only.

Circuit Diagram & Circuit Explanation
12. NC contact of RE3-A is closed normally, it supplies +15 V DC to CP4-4 of Filament Card
to select small focus filament.
13. NC contact of RE3-B is normally closed and it gives 24 V DC to Switches on Self
Diagnostic Card for Emergency Exposure. It also gives 24 V DC to Relay Module Card.
14. NC contact of RE3-C is normally closed. It supplies 24 V DC in case of Thales I.I. or 230
V AC in case of Toshiba I.I.
15. When Fluoro Exposure Switch or Foot Switch is pressed, Pre Rx and Com Rx signal is
generate from Display Card. When Instant Exposure Card receive Pre-Rx & Rx signal
then Ready Relay RE2 gets 0 V supply from CN3-3 of Instant Exposure Card and gets
energized.
16. When NO contact of RE2-A Relay closes to give supply +15 V DC to both SSR relays
through Zener Diode (5.6V, 1W). That time both SSR relays gets energized. When SSR1
NO contact close, give 230V AC supply to TS1-6 and SSR2 give 0 V AC to TS1-7 and
exposure is done.
17. NO contact of RE2-B closes to give 230 V AC supply to exposure indicator.
18. NO contact of RE2-C closes to give 0 V DC supply to RE 7 Coil and it gets energized.
19. NC contact of RE7-A opens to disconnect 0 V DC supply to common of RE6-B contact.
RE 6-B contact is further connected to Pin No. 31 of IC 7107 (U31) in Display Card.
When Pin No. 31 is grounded then mA display shows 00. When Ground is disconnected
actual mA are displayed during exposure.
20. NO contact of RE7-C closes to short J4 connector contacts of ABS Card. This contact is
shorted during exposure and ABS function starts working. (If ABS Mode selected).
21. NO contact of RE7-B is used only in case of rotating anode tubes. NO contact closes to
give 0 V DC supply to Rotor Plate ROT-1 Coil. ROT-1 Relay gets energized to and give
supply to further circuit.
22. Normally when we ON the machine Thermal Relay RE8 is energized. RE8 Coil 0V come
from Tube Head CP2-1. Self Diagnostic Card J5-5 & 6 are opened normally due to NO
contact RE8-A so that LED 5 does not glow. In case of excessive temperature in Tube
Head, relay RE8 gets de-energized and closes the contact between J5-5 and J5-6 of self
diagnosis card so that LED 5 glows.

Circuit Diagram & Circuit Explanation
23. NO contact RE8-B is closed and Com Rx signal is available from Self Diagnostic Card to
Earth Fault Card and Pulse-19 Card. In case of excessive temperature in Tube Head,
Relay RE8 gets de-energized and Com Rx signal is disconnected from Pulse-19 Card so
that exposure does not done.
24. When exposure time of 300 seconds complete then exposure terminate and Pre Rx signal
from Display Card stops so that 0 V DC supply to Relay Coil RE2 gets disconnected. As a
result Power supply to Inverter also gets disconnected and exposure stops. On pressing
Reset Switch, Pre Rx signal is again generated and exposure starts again.
RADIOGRAPHY MODE
25. When F/R mode selection Switch is pressed, Machine changes mode from Fluoro to
Radio and vice-versa.
26. When Radio mode is selected, Relay RE3 gets energized.
27. NC contact of RE3-A gets opened and this selects large filament. Thus large filament
starts glowing.
28. NC contact of RE3-B gets opened and this cuts off the 24 V supply to relay module and
emergency exposure switches on Self Diagnostic Card.
29. NC contact of RE3-C gets opened so that I.I. supply gets disconnected.
30. When cassette holder containing X-Ray film is loaded and socket on cassette holder is
connected to jack on I.I., then relay RE6 (Radiographic exposure relay) gets energized.
31. NO contact of RE6-A gets closed so that J5-1 of display card gets connected with TS2-10.
This will enable radiography exposure from Radio exposure switch on control.
32. NC contact of RE6-B gets opened and disconnects the 0 V supply to Pin No. 31 of 7107
IC (U31) on Display Card so that actual mA are displayed during exposure.
33. NC contact of RE6-C gets opened so that mA link card gets disconnected from display
card and invertor and mA is not linked with KVP.
34. When radiographic exposure switch is pressed, Pre Rx signal and Rx control signal is
generated. Relay RE2 gets 0 V supply from Instant exposure card and gets energized.

35. When NO contact of RE2-A Relay closes to give supply +15 V DC to both SSR relays.
That time both SSR relays gets energized. When SSR1 NO contact close, give 230V AC
supply to TS1-6 and SSR2 give 0 V AC to TS1-7 and exposure is done.
36. NO contact of RE2-B closes to give 230 V supply to exposure indicator.
37. NO contact of RE2-C closes to give 0 V supply to RE 7 coil and Relay RE 7 (Exposure
relay) gets energized.
38. NC contact of RE7-A opens to disconnect 0 V supply to common of RE6-B contact. RE
6-B contact is further connected to Pin no. 31 of IC 7107 (U31) in Display Card. When
Pin No. 31 is grounded then mA display shows 00. Ground is disconnected so that actual

39. NO contact of RE7-B is used only in case of rotating anode tubes. NO contact closes to

42. In Radiography mode, we have different mAs and Radiography exposure cut according to
selection of mAs.
