March 19, Unit 4: Reflecting on this topic made me
2025 Gender, Culture & realize how deeply these concepts are
Institution rooted in our everyday lives. From a young
8:30 am age, I was taught what was considered
Lesson 1: 'appropriate' for my gender, like how to
Gender Role dress, how to act, whom to play with, and
even what dreams to pursue. In some way,
these expectations didn’t feels right, but I
followed them because they were seen as
normal in the society. As I've grown older,
I've started to question these roles and how
unfair they can be in other aspects of life,
especially when they limit someone's
potential or freedom.
Gender roles are not natural truths;
they are created by society through
culture, family, school, media, and religion.
Realizing this, I feel a responsibility to
unlearn the stereotypes I've absorbed and
to help create a world where everyone,
regardless of gender, can live without fear
or judgment. To make through it, it starts
with awareness, but it continues through
individual and collective action—by
speaking up, supporting others, fostering
collaboration and mutual respect, and
believing in equal opportunity for all. A
reminder that we shouldn't just stick to
what's been practiced culturally; we must
show up to everyone who truly we are
positively, to live where we choose, to say
what we think, and to dress as we like. This
is us, this is me, and that we have our
freedom and rights in our hands.
March 19, Unit 4: The topic clearly shed light on the
2025 Gender, Culture & fundamental difference between sex and
Institution gender—something I now see as essential
9:00 am to understand. At first, I used to think of
Lesson 2: them as the same, but learning about their
Difference distinction helped me see that sex is rooted

construct shaped by both personal identity
and societal influences. The concept of
gender as a wide and diverse spectrum,
rather than being limited to just male or
female, deeply resonated with me. It
pushed me to rethink the rigid beliefs I was
raised with.
In hindsight, I now realize how
essential it is to acknowledge and respect
the many different gender identities and
expressions, instead of placing people into
narrow categories. Gaining this
understanding helps build a more inclusive
and respectful space for everyone. The
map I made serves as a visual
representation of the depth and
complexity of these ideas, encouraging
me to approach them with greater
thoughtfulness and openness.
March 19, Unit 4: For me, stepping into this topic has

obvious things like subject choices, but also
the less noticeable dynamics. Gender

I’ve witnessed these dynamics both
through my own experiences as a student
and by observing others around me.
Learning about this was eye-opening—it
really emphasized just how important it is to
recognize the influence of gender in
educational spaces. It highlighted the
need to create classrooms that go beyond
simply aiming for fairness; they should
actively foster inclusivity, making sure every
student, regardless of their gender identity
or expression, feels seen, safe, and
supported to reach their potential. It’s not
just about achieving equity; it’s about
embracing the unique perspectives and
richness that different gender identities
bring to the learning experience.
Ultimately, this experience has led
me to consider how I, as a student, can
contribute to creating a more gender-
sensitive and equitable school community.
March 26, Unit 4: Now I realized how interconnected
2025 Gender, Culture & the problems are. It's not simply a matter of

Issues Related to The other section highlights how gendered

What interests me most in the
discussion was the real, everyday struggles
faced by students whose gender identity
doesn’t fit into society’s expectations. It’s
heartbreaking to realize how much they
have to deal with—whether it's feeling
unsupported, being limited by school rules,
or not having access to basic, safe
facilities. These challenges aren’t just, they
can deeply affect a student’s sense of
belonging and ability to succeed.
To conclude, this topic made me
reflect on how deeply rooted gender
inequality can be in our education system.
It reminded me that change doesn’t just
happen through big reforms, but also
through everyday awareness and action.
We all have a role to play in shaping a
school environment where every student
feels safe, respected, and free to be
themselves, because every young person
deserves the chance to thrive towards
achieving their dreams, no matter who
they are.
April 21, 2025 Unit 4: Learning about this topic evoke a lot
Gender, Culture & of feelings. At core, its basic concept,

everyone, is powerful, yet the reality is that

Thinking about this fills me with both
determination and hope. The road ahead

succeed is deeply motivating. It’s a
continuous process, but one that moves us
closer to a fairer and brighter future for all.
April 23, 2025 Week 5: For me, learning about the concept
Gender, Sexuality, of sexuality has been a journey of self-

preconceived notions.
Through this lesson, I've learned that
sexuality is a complex and multifaceted
aspect of human experience,
encompassing a wide range of identities,
expressions, and relationships. It's now clear
to me that promoting sexual health and
education, and challenging harmful
stereotypes, are crucial. With this
understanding, I am now empowered to
approach conversations about sexuality
with greater empathy and respect,
recognizing that it's not just a matter of
pride, but a vital aspect of human
experience that requires sensitivity and
understanding.
April 28, 2025 Week 5: Reflecting on the legal rights of
Gender, Sexuality, women in terms of sexuality and

our society—from the past up to the

can’t ignore the fact that many women still
lack access to essential services and legal
protection, this maybe because of lack of
connection or due to poverty (well, I can’t

disheartening to see how the laws, no
matter how well-written, often fail to reflect
the real experiences and struggles of
women.
This realization has made me more
aware of the need to push for stronger
legal frameworks that don’t just exist on
paper but are actually enforced in real life
situations. I’ve come to understand that
legal equality means nothing without
practical access to justice, support, and
resources. This isn’t just a women’s issue—
it’s a human issue, and I feel responsible, in
my own way, to care about it and speak
up, thinking also that I am a woman,
deserving of any kind of legal protections.
April 29, 2025 Week 5: Confronting the issue of violence
Gender, Sexuality, against women is deeply disturbing, and
9:55 pm Sexual Harassment many of us are aware of its consequences.
& Abuse We've witnessed its impact, and the scale
and severity of the problem are shocking
Lesson 3: especially if we directly see the innocent

Women
I've come to understand that
violence against women is not a private
matter, but a systemic issue rooted in
gender inequality. It starts with cultural
norms and traditions that perpetuate such
violence. It's not just about individual
perpetrators; rather, it's about the societal
structures that enable and perpetuate
violence.
This understanding has fueled my
commitment to advocating for change,
supporting those affected, and working
towards a society where women live free
from all forms of violence. Where they
would grow and thrive freely in achieving
what they want and they dream to
become. While the path forward may be
gradual, I'm committed to contributing to
progress and creating a safer, more
equitable world.
April 28, 2025 Week 5: For me, delving deeper into this
Gender, Sexuality, topic has emphasized the importance of
9:15 am Sexual Harassment bodily autonomy and self-determination.
& Abuse I've become more informed about the fact
that these rights are fundamental human
Lesson 4: rights, essential for individuals to make
Reproductive informed choices about their bodies and
Rights & Sexual lives. The lesson also highlighted the
Rights significance of access to comprehensive
sexual and reproductive health services,
including contraception, education, and
healthcare, in achieving gender equality
and promoting well-being.
Additionally, the denial of these
rights has profound consequences for
individuals and communities, reinforcing
inequalities and limiting opportunities of
individuals. Further, the knowledge I've
gained reinforces my understanding of the
need to advocate for universal access to
these essential services and challenge the
stigma and misinformation that often
surround these rights. Not only that but
also, I'm more aware of my own rights now
as a woman, and I recognize the
importance of upholding them. Overall,
the lesson for me is one of the key of
realizing our worth and rights, and we must
learn it more and apply this into practical
situation.
