37. The three states of matter are interchangeable and the change can be affected both by temperature and
pressure. When a solid is heated, it changes into its liquid state at its melting point temperature. And
upon further heating. liquid changes to, gaseous state at its boiling point temperature. There are certain
solids which directly change into its vapour state without passing through the liquid state.

38. Every living cell has the capacity to perform certain basic functions that are characteristics of all living
forms. There is a division of labour in multi-cellular organism. Different parts of the body of a multi-
cellular organism perform different functions. Similarly, division of labour is also seen within a single
cell. In fact, each such cell has got certain specific components within it known as cell organelle.
