STEP 1: RECOGNIZING THE NEED OF A PRODUCT OR A SERVICE
Personal hygiene is very much essential for our human health. With this,
taking a bath regularly cleanses our body and refreshes it in order to prepare for the
day. Upon pondering this matter, the means for bathing are shampoo and body
soap. According, to the Dictionary, shampoo is a liquid or cream preparation of soap
or detergent for body hair cleanser. This implies that shampoo is very demand in the
market because obviously everybody is in need of this. In today’s generation
shampoos may be categorizes for male only, female only and baby’s shampoo
depending on the user. That is why, it is well indeed important for human needs.
As stated by Dermatol (2015), shampoo in simple terms is a hair care product
designed to clean the scalp skin along with its hairs. Historically, the term shampoo
entered in the English language via India, through the Hindi word “shampoo” that
means press or massage. Hair cleaning is a solid task most especially for women.
Additionally, shampoos are primarily used for cleaning the scalp for dirt and also
other pollutants. Secondly, shampoos are hair beautifier and conditioner in order to
sooth the irritated scalp skin like seborrheic dermatitis. Basically, shampoo are
indeed helpful for personal hygiene and greatly helps in people’s health.

STEP 2: PROBLEM DEFINITION AND UNDERSTANDING


As shampoo are widely needed in our society as is applies to be one of our
basic needs, here are some questions that must be considered before considering a
product. How many sachets or bottles of shampoo weekly are consumed by one
nuclear family or even a household? (Considered to be a quantitative type of data).
Are this product (shampoo) reliable enough? Does it harmful to our health?
(Considered to be a qualitative type of data). Are these products not under black
markets or are this product pass under observation of Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) department? (Considered to be a qualitative type of data). Those are just
some queries that triggers the reliability of a shampoo. To further, comprehended the
product’s main purpose it must be research thoroughly before using it. Users must
see to it that these items or products are approve by FDA and pass legal
transactions before it will be introduced to the market. Knowing the intention of an
item must always be top priority before considering or purchasing it, as to avoid
future problem most particularly in the health aspect.

STEP 3: RESEARCH AND PREPARATION


This report outlines the research and preparation process for a new shampoo
product. The objective is to create an innovative, high-quality shampoo that meets
consumer needs while adhering to industry regulations and environmental
sustainability.

1. Market Research

Market research was conducted to gain insights into customers demands and
preferences. Key findings included:

cosmetics. Shampoo is typically in the form of a viscous liquid with some exception
of waterless solid form such as a bar. Shampoo was developed to replace soap for
cleansing scalp and hair by removing unwanted sebum, dandruff, environmental
dust, and residues of hair care products. Most of the dirt including sebum are water
insoluble and cannot be effectively removed by water alone.

are responsible for cleansing. They reduce surface tension of water, allowing
it to spread and remove dirt, oil, and pollutants form the hair.
3. Conditioners- shampoo often contain conditioning agents like silicons,
proteins or fatty alcohols to improve hair manageability, reduce frizz, and add
shine.
4. Thickeners- ingredients like guar gum or xanthan gum are used to create the
