Good evening, my name is Sam Osborne and today I will be discussing facts about rocks, but

I will mainly be talking about metamorphic rock.

There are two types of metamorphic rock foliated and non-foliated. Foliated rocks are rocks
that have platy or elongate minerals aligned in roughly parallel planes or in wavy bands or
planes. Non-foliated rocks are rocks that may show colored bands that reflect minute
impurities in the rock, but the dominant minerals show no visible alignment.

Heat And pressure melt rocks and new crystals can form. Minerals in the rocks can be
pressed into many layers causing a change in texture and forms new rock. Metamorphic
rock can be formed by being subjected to high pressure, high heat, boiling mineral full fluids,
and or much more commonly, a combination of these things. And pressure melt rocks and
new crystals can form.

There are many examples of metamorphic rock and some include but are not limited to
phyllite, schist, gneiss, quartzite, and marble.
