For instance, x + 2, x2 +4, ... are binomial expressions, After expanding the binomial expressions, we get more than ety x terms. For instance, 2 4 2ax + a? (x+a) (xta)} = x3 + 3xta+ 3xa? + a? In this chapter, we will study the expansion of (x + a)", whatever the ‘n’ may be, by the theorem |jnown as Binomial Theorem. This Theorem was established by Sir Issac Newton. For this, the knowledge of factorial notations, permutations, combinations is very essential. 52 BASIC CONCEPTS USEFUL IN BINOMIAL EXPANSION While expanding binomial expressions raised to positive integer (n), we use Binomial Theorem.
