HackwithInfy Interview Experience
Candidate Number 1: Nandita Gupta
Mindset and Process before Interview
After 20 days, I received the final interview call email stating that I had the interview at
Infosys Ltd. in Noida on June 15th, a Saturday, starting at 10 AM sharp.
I reached Noida one day before the scheduled interview with my mother. We searched for
the Infosys Office first and then booked a room in a nearby hotel. I was feeling very nervous
so I started revising all my stuff again. Next morning I woke up at 5, did a little revision and
got freshen up. After having breakfast, we headed towards the office. It was nearly 9 AM
when I entered the entrance gate. I did all the paper work and then the receptionist asked
me to go to 9th floor. When I reached there, I saw two employees and they were giving
visitor’s card to the candidates after registering there names. I also got mine and then was
told to reach 11th floor for the interview. There I was!! I saw 10-15 candidates waiting for
their interview. I also went and sat on a chair. After 30 mins, I was called for the interview in
a cabin.
Interview Process
The interview started with my introduction. The questions were mostly based on
my resume and CS fundamentals. Sensing my nervousness, my interviewer calmed me
down by discussing my preferred coding language, interests, and hobbies.
Some questions asked:
• A DSA question about finding the vector containing the largest substring from a given
vector of strings with repetitive characters.
• What is a tree? How do you find the depth of a tree?
• Time complexity of Bubble Sort.
• Given a non-sorted array, which searching algorithm would you use?
• What is Binary Search? (Algorithm)
• Difference between SQL and No-SQL.
• Given two tables, which field would you choose for the primary key and which for
the foreign key? Discussed candidate key and unique key. (We had 10 minutes
discussion over this part. )
• Create an employee table and choose the primary key.
• Write a SQL query to find the second largest salary from the employee table.
• What is DBMS Sharding?
She then looked at my resume and asked about my projects, their working processes, and
workflows. There were some questions on the tech stack I used, how to connect a client
with a server, what Axios is, and how to represent an id and class in CSS. She also asked
about LLM models since I had mentioned them in one of my projects and how I would
change the background color of two containers without changing the class.
