The writing process in technical writing refers to a structural approach


used to concise, clear, and user-centered documents like
reports,manuals, instructions, proposal. Unlike creative writing,
technical writing focuses on accuracy, clarity and usability.

Main Purposes of writing process in technical writing


 Communicate complex information simply and effectively.
 Guide readers to perform task and understand concepts
 Ensure accuracy and consistency(font,color,layout etc) in
documentation
 Meets the needs of specific audience(students, engineers, users etc)

Types of technical writing


 User manuals-step guides for using products or software.
 Reports-structured documents presenting analysis or findings
 Proposals- Documents suggesting a plan or solutions
 Standard operating procedures(SOPs)-Detailed process
documentation for organizations
 Technical Blogs/Articles-Simplified writing for broader audience
 Case study-In depth analysis of specific problems or solutions

Writing Process- Technical and Academic Writing


The writing process typically involves 5 major stages:
1. Prewriting/Plannings
 Identify the audience, purpose and scope
 Gather relevant data, requirements and resources
2. Drafting
 Begin writing the first version of the document.
 Focus on content and structure over grammar
3. Revising
 Improve the document for clarity, organization, and coherence.
 Refine the tone and ensure technical accuracy
4. Editing & Proofreading
 Check for grammer, spelling formatting and style error.
 Use tools or peer reviews for accuracy

Significance of Technical writing


 Increase the quality and effectiveness of communication
 Ensure the document meets user needs and technical standard.
 Saves time by reducing the number of revisions
 Promote professionalism and credibility
 Use of technical vocabulary, compound Nouns and Acronyms such as

 Use of rhetorical Function: Definition, description and Instruction
 Use of Numerical expression: statistics, Data in literary context

The following diagram represents process for students planning to study
at a university abroad. The flowchart visualized in the presentation
provides a step-by-step guide, from researching universities to finally
starting the academic journey. The objective of this document is to
explain the stages involved and their purpose for technical clarity.

Overall, as it is clear that the diagram follows seven different steps to


apply in a foreign university which includes: Research and Choose
Universities, Submit Application, Receive Offer, Accept Offer, Apply for
visa, Prepare for University and Start or Consider other options.

First of all student need to research and choose different universities like
Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard etc. Then student writes application to
submit in different universities. Then the university verifies the
application and sends offer letter to students. If the offer letter is
accepted students accepts offer and then apply for visa to the respective
country and then starts to prepare for university education.
If the student is rejecte then student needs to consider other options.
