- What does history mean to you personally?
- Why is it important to study Philippine history?
- How can learning about our past shape your identity as a Filipino today?
- Share one historical event you find most meaningful and explain why.
Write your answer below:

History is important because it helps us know who we are and where we came from. It helps us
understand our ancestors and what they went through. We also learn about the hard things they
did so we could be free. For all Filipinos, learning our history is needed because it shows how
strong and brave the people were who stood up for our rights and our identity.
One important event is the EDSA People Power Revolution in 1986. It was a peaceful protest
where many normal people came together to remove a bad leader. It shows us that we can
make a change if we help each other and work for a good reason. Learning about our history
helps us become better citizens and reminds us to do what is fair, kind, and right. It also tells us
that we have a duty to help our country.
Also, history is not just about dates and old events. History helps and teaches us for the future.
When we know our past, we feel closer to other Filipinos, and we can better understand what
we can do to help. This feeling of togetherness helps us build a better future while showing
respect to those who lived before us.
