SAMPLE ESSAY FOR FORM 5, SEMESTER 1, 2023 PAPER 2

Part 2
Have you ever felt so stressed that even your favourite activities could not cheer you
up? Most teenagers go through stress, especially when trying to manage schoolwork, family
responsibilities, and friendships all at once.
I still remember a week when I had three exams, a project deadline, and a family
wedding. I felt exhausted and confused. I could not concentrate in class, and I stayed up late
trying to finish everything. That experience made me realise how badly I needed to manage
my stress.
To calm myself, I started walking in the park after school and journaling before bed.
These simple routines helped clear my mind. I also planned my tasks using a checklist so I
would not panic at the last minute.
Managing stress is important because it affects both our body and mind. It can also
damage relationships, as we may become impatient or distant without noticing.
In conclusion, stress is normal, but with healthy habits, we can handle it and stay
balanced.

Part 3 Question 3
In a world where many people focus only on personal success, taking time to help
others can feel rare but it shapes us into more thoughtful, compassionate individuals. Charity
work is one of the best ways to practise this.
Last month, I joined a food bank programme run by a local organisation. We packed
dry goods and delivered them to families in need. Some of us also helped clean and organise
the food storage area. Although it was physically tiring, the experience was rewarding. We
saw firsthand how much a simple food package could mean to someone going through hard
times.
Helping others is important because it builds stronger communities and teaches us
compassion. When we help those who are struggling, we learn to appreciate what we have. It
also improves our emotional well-being by giving us a sense of purpose and human
connection.
To encourage others, schools can organise charity days, visits to old folks’ homes, or
donation drives. Students could also form volunteering clubs to create a culture of kindness.
Social media is another powerful tool to share success stories and inspire more participation.
Doing good does not always mean donating money. Sometimes, our time, skills, or
even just a kind gesture can make a big impact. Come, let’s start where we are, with what we
have!
Part 3 Question 4
If you are looking for the ultimate shopping and lifestyle destination near Putrajaya,
IOI City Mall in Seri Kembangan is the place to be. It is one of the largest malls in the
country and continues to draw locals and tourists alike.
What makes this mall truly popular is its incredible variety. It offers something for
everyone. From international fashion brands to homegrown boutiques, a wide range of dining
options, and even entertainment like an indoor ice-skating rink and cinema.
The mall is well-designed, clean, and spacious, which makes it comfortable even
during peak hours. Plus, its recent Phase 2 expansion added even more curated retail outlets
and stylish cafés that are perfect for meetups and casual hangouts.
I would absolutely recommend this mall to others, especially if you enjoy fashion and
lifestyle shopping under one roof. The prices range from affordable to premium, so there's
always something for every budget. There are also regular sales and fashion events that make
every visit exciting.
Whether you are shopping for the latest styles, looking for a good meal, or simply
spending time with friends, IOI City Mall delivers a complete experience. It is not just a mall,
it is a stylish escape from the ordinary.

Part 3 Question 5
The first time being away from home, I was both excited and nervous. I had signed up
for a five-day jungle adventure camp in Pahang. It was my first solo trip without my parents,
and although I smiled at the gate, my stomach was full of butterflies.
The first night was the hardest. We slept in tents under the stars, surrounded by
unfamiliar sounds of insects and rustling leaves. But by the second day, I was learning to light
a fire, cook simple meals, and even use a compass. One of the most liberating moments was
crossing a narrow rope bridge above a muddy river. My heart pounded, but I kept going.
The experience taught me more than just survival skills. It changed how I saw myself.
I realised I was stronger and more resilient than I had ever imagined. I could solve problems,
make new friends, and stay calm in unfamiliar situations.
Since then, I have become more independent and confident. I help out more at home
and speak up in class without hesitation. That short camp did not just take me out of my
comfort zone, it opened up a part of me I didn’t know was there.
If you ever get the chance to go on an adventure, take it. The memories will fade, but
the lessons will last a lifetime.
