Good morning, everyone. The topic I will be discussing with you is depression. In this
presentation, I will walk you through the various types of depression. The causes, its
symptoms, the treatment, and the people that help in addressing this problem. What is
depression to you? For me, depression is the constant feeling of being numb. Being numb to
emotions, being numb to life, and being numb to your senses. Depression is, as if you have
come to a point in your life where you no longer want to see what is in front of you because
the past is where you want to spend the majority of your time. That is depression for me. The
reason why I asked you for your definition of depression is that your definition is differ from
my [Link] website [Link] states; “Depression, which often diagnosed as ‘major
depressive disorder’, is the feelings of sadness or a low mood that last longer than two weeks
and starts to get I the way of your everyday life. Keep in mind that depression is a condition
that can only be accurately diagnosed and treated by a health professional.”
The majority of individuals nowadays suffer from depression, which has become a
widespread issue. Due to the diminishing value of relationships in today's society,
relationships have started to fall apart rapidly, which has led to an increase in despair among
people. The world of today has become extremely competitive. Depression is a result of
competition. In every sector, people strive to remain in front, and when they fall behind, they
suffer from sadness. Depression is growing more prevalent as a result. Depression is a mood
disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major
depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think, and behave and can
lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-
to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn’t worth living. Depression can
affect your emotions, mind, and body. Depression symptoms includes feeling down, hopeless,
or concerned; not enjoying activities that used to bring you joy; and being easily irritated or
frustrated. Eating too much or too little; changes in how much you sleep; having a difficult
time concentrating or remembering things; experiencing physical problems like headaches,
stomachaches, or sexual dysfunction; thinking about hurting and killing yourself.
About 20 percent of all teens experience depression before they reach adulthood.
Between 10 to 15 percent suffer from symptoms at any one time. Only 30 percent of
depressed teens are being treated for it. If your depression is keeping you from living the life
you want, don’t hesitate to seek help. It can be treated under proper expert supervision for
depression treatment. For this, on the advice of experts, getting enough sleep, eating well,
exercising regularly, getting regular medical check-ups, and living in a good environment.
