The Summer Training Report/Internship Report is a summary of the

student’s internship experiences, mostly required by the academic institution


to provide a glimpse/opportunity to their pupil first-hand experience of the
organization’s/industry’s climate and culture.

Format and Guidelines to prepare Summer Training Report

Title Page

The first page will be the internship report introduction, and it should include the report's title
and the name of the organisation. It should also have your name, class and college and internship
dates. This information will make it easier for the organisation/Institute staff to identify different
reports.

Declaration

In this page the student has to declare that the summer training report submitted by the student
has been prepared by him/her and haven’t been submitted/used anywhere else.

Acknowledgment

Begin the internship project report by thanking your supervisor and the employees at the
organisation who helped you during the training period. You can also mention how they helped
you and what you learned in particular from each person.

Internship/Summer Training Certificate

In this page the student must include the coloured copy of the certificate provided by the
employer/ organisation for the internship period mentioning all particular necessary.

Table of contents

The next page of your internship project report should be a table of contents. This page will give
readers a quick overview of everything you have included. It will also make the sections easy for
readers to find.

List of Tables

This page should include list of all the tables included in the summer training report.
List of Figures

This page should include list of all the figures included in the summer training report.

Chapter – 1: Organisation – An Introduction

Give a brief overview of the organisation 's history, including who founded it, for what purpose
and when. This is also the place to mention the organisation's mission and vision statement and
its regular business activities. You should inform your readers about the organisation
structure/hierarchy, product/service offering, financial data, market, clients & competitors and
any other relevant information that you wish to provide.

Chapter – 2 What I did

Mention your internship position within the organisation and explain the specific tasks that the
organisation staff assigned to you daily. You can discuss the skills you learned as a result and the
experiences that helped you to develop professionally. You should also mention any projects you
completed on your own or as part of a team.

Chapter – 3: Learnings during internship

Write this chapter around your specific knowledge & skills that you acquired/developed during
your internship. Explain how they relate to your educational experiences and your career goals.
Detail experiences you received during your internship that helped you to develop professionally
and how they will contribute to your future work.

Chapter – 4: Conclusion

This chapter should summarize the whole summer training experience and learnings you had
during your internship. Also discuss various aspects that could act as feedback which will help
you gain insight into what you would like to find in future internships while also helping the
organisation understand how they can better meet the needs and interests of interns in the future.

Summer Training Report text: 12 pt, for English: Times New Roman / Arial; line
1.5 spacing

Headings:

 Chapter title: 18 – 24 pt size, bold


 Main Section Headings: 14 pt size, bold.
 Second Headings: 12 pt size, bold, cap
 Sub headings: 12 pt size, bold, sentence case.
Foot note: The footnote (if any) shall be typed 1.5 spaced with Font Size 10
Margins: Odd page: Left- 4 cm; top, bottom and right- 2.5 cm.

Even page: Right- 4 cm; top, bottom and left-2.5 cm. These are necessary to allow for
binding and trimming.
Page Numbering: All pages of the thesis shall be on the right bottom of the page in
format (Page 1 of 100) except the preliminary pages which shall be numbered in lower
case Roman Numerical (ii, iii, iv ….).
Paper: A4-size paper
Printing: A high-quality laser printer should be used, preferably on both sides.
